Bussing Information

TCGIS contracts with JME Transportation to provide busing service for students who require it as a primary mode of transportation to and from school. We do not offer door-to-door service, but rather use shared stops at centralized locations. We generally expect that families who register for busing regularly utilize the bus at least three days per week. Please contact Maja Reyes ( [email protected]) if your family has a situation that requires exception to this expectation.

It's Time to Start Ordering School Lunches/Milk and Kinderclub Care!

Please log on to our online store website Boonli and place your child(ren)'s Kinderclub and School Lunch/Milk order for August & September.

All orders are due by Midnight on Wednesday, August 15th.

If your family is new to our online store, please click here for more information on the Boonli website, how to "Register" for an account and how to navigate the site. Please note the school password needed during the registration process is TCGIS1 .

If you are a returning family, please use the same username/password information that you have used last school year. If you need assistance with your account login, please email us at [email protected].

Please note: School bus seats no longer have to be ordered in Boonli. More information will follow within the next weeks.

TCGIS Alumni Picnic

News from the TCGIS Lunch Room

We are pleased to have Lancer Dining Services continue to provide healthy meals to TCGIS students. Please take a moment to read this Welcome Letter from the TCGIS Food Service team. It contains important information and/or changes to the Lunch Program for 2018-2019. We appreciate your support, and look forward to another year of serving meals to our students!

Facilities Committee

Thank you to everyone who completed the building project survey and took the time to learn about the building project. The board appreciates your candid responses. To stay up-to-date on the building project, please visit www.tcgisbuildingproject.org. There is a NEWS tab that will feature blog-style updates as information changes.

In case you missed it, the school board voted to replace the Aula with a new gym, cafeteria and add the additional classrooms and small room spaces needed at TCGIS. Thousands of volunteer hours went into this decision. Thank you to all parents who volunteer their time at TCGIS.

The facility committee generally meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6:00 PM in Room 99. There will NOT be an August meeting.

TCGIS Seeking Substitute Teachers

We are seeking substitute teachers for the 2018-19 school year!

Substitute teaching is a great way to connect with the TCGIS community, utilize or build German speaking skills, and make a valuable contribution to our students' learning.

If you are interested in applying for the position, please send a letter of interest, a current resume, and two letters of recommendation to Gael Braddock ( [email protected]).

Substitute teaching requires a Short Call Substitute License through Minnesota Department of Education. If you do not currently have this license, you can find more information on obtaining the license HERE.

Join Us for the Twin Cities Oktoberfest 5K!

Bring your Lederhosen and Dirndls! Welcome to the Twin Cities Oktoberfest 5K Fun Run Walk! The event will be held around Como Lake. After the race, head on over to Gabe's by the Park to celebrate Oktoberfest 2018. A beer or non-alcoholic drink ticket is included with race entry! Come dressed in your Oktoberfest best if you'd like! Proceeds from the race will benefit the Twin Cities German Immersion School. Click here to register today!
