We had a great time cooking and gardening with kids at our summer middle school Healthy Kids program! This program teaches kids about healthy eating and growing and preparing vegetables. We were assisted by the awesome Youth Crew from the Waltham Fields Community Farm! Check out more photos here. Thank you Hannaford Supermarket for making this program possible.
Students from the middle school summer program hold up certificates they earned for

More Summer Gardening
We also just wrapped up our summer gardening clubs at Chesterbrook, Dana Court, and Prospect Hill Terrace housing. In addition to gardening, the kids at the Chesterbrook gardening club were inspired to write poems about gardens. Check out their poetry here. Thanks to all who participated and to Dr. Nadene Stein, our Board President, for running the club at Chesterbrook!
Read this wonderful article that talks about the benefits of cooking and gardening with kids here. This is why we do what we do!
