"Communication is what makes our partnership work. You let us know what your clients can do and what your expectations of us are and we let you know and especially the individual who will be working for us what our expectations are. In the case of Efrain the entire staff treats him as part of the family and holds him accountable for the expectations we have for him and he has responded by meeting all our expectations as any other employee has to. We also have a very structured work environment which I believe helps the individuals such as Efrain meet our expectations and their own goals."

A Whole Lott More

One July 15th the Arc in partnership with the Town of Plymouth Disabilities Commission presented the inspiring documentary "A Whole Lott More" as part of the nationwide Reelabilities Film Festival. Held at the Plymouth Public Library the film presented the need for a wider range of employment options for people with developmental disabilities featuring engaging and enthusiastic employees and their plight to keep a company committed to employing them in business in the midst of recession and economic downturn. The evening concluded with a panel discussion of local employment policy, opportunities and challenges with guest presenters Casey Seaman of DDS, Cheryl Cormier of MRC, Arc Self Advocates Tina Theran and Jim Costa, Prudence Hartshorn of the Disability Commission and management from Stop and Shop.
