Philippians 1:3-6

" I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,  always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy,  for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now,  being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;"
Hold On Wonder Woman

Do you ever feel like you aren't getting to where you want to be? Like there's no end to everything you keep doing day in and day out and thing after thing gets in the way? What's the ultimate purpose I'm living for? Isn't it more than this?

Diana, in Wonder Woman, is a young princess who is continually seeking and discovering who she is and what she's meant to do. As a child, she sees other women warriors (Amazons) training and wants to train. She is finally allowed to and gets trained the hardest, becoming one of the best among her people. Still, there's more. She learns about the horrific "war to end all wars" going on in the outside world. Diana believes she can end the war and leaves her people to do so. During the war, she faces trial and error but doesn't give up and ends up discovering her full powers as Wonder Woman. This leads her to finally fulfilling her destiny of destroying Ares, the cause of the war and whose destruction would be the only thing to truly end the war.

After we get over the fact that we all want to be as agile and strong as Wonder Woman, her story has significance. In Christ, we're all a Wonder Woman at heart who can't give up. The underlying root of the "incomplete purpose" we often feel is the fact that so far it is incomplete. At the core, it won't be fully completed until the day of Jesus Christ. He has begun a good work in each and every one of us that is a part of His bigger plan and purpose that is  still in action. There's always more to seek, discover and do now while alive on earth.

Every day we face is a battle. Others may not see or speak significance into our daily lives and tasks, but there most definitely is. There's value, meaning and purpose in every practice, every competition,  every email or text, every conversation, every time of rest, and every meal cooked and load of laundry done. Sometimes our battle is just believing this.

Satan is still alive and active. One day he will be destroyed for good. Until then...hold on Wonder Woman. Fight that daily battle, making each and every day count and being confident the ultimate victory of Christ is coming.  As you do, more of who you are and what you're meant to do will be discovered.  The good work started in you will be completed, and you will end your life on earth knowing you've done your full part.

Letter to a Friend Engaged to a Nonbeliever
By: Sean Nolan
Guest Contributor for www.desiringgod.org

Sean confronts a friend who is engaged to a nonbeliever. He speaks toward common justifications for doing so, such as: others are doing it, he's a good guy, give him a chance, I'll die alone, and I already said yes.

"I expect that, if you're honest, you may have your own reservations about the upcoming ceremony."

"If you truly love him, your concern for his soul should outweigh your hopes for marriage."
