Hello and welcome to another beautiful Bobcat school year! Cats CARE (
Changing
Attitudes
Towards
Success:
Caring
Acts of
Responsibility for
Everyone) Team functions through the use of an ideology called Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support, PBIS.
CatsCARE Team (PBIS) will continue to work behind the scenes this year to make sure Cienega is a safe, nurturing, and positive environment where students can learn and grow into adulthood. The team is made up of teachers, students, administrators, counselors, parents, security, special education staff and classified staff...all of the stakeholders on campus. We put programs in place to give staff opportunities to say, "Good for you!" rather than, "Shame on you." Programs that strive to keep Cienega's culture positive for all students are the goal, and those programs rise up from data collected from discipline referrals and reports of incidents involving students.
PBIS is a significant cornerstone of how we make decisions on campus and is a long standing tradition at Cienega. Our programs have been recognized as exemplary models of PBIS and we have hosted many other schools and districts who are striving to build up their own programs. We hope to highlight some of the programs in future issues of Cat Chat.
Please know that your student is attending a school committed to supporting positive behavior, which in turn reduces discipline issues.
