Dear Friends,

For many kids in our community, school started last week.

We all know that education is one of the most important things in a young person's life. Unfortunately, in Napa Valley, too many students face barriers to achieving academic success.

For this reason, investing in programs that level the educational playing field and help local students succeed is a core part of Napa Valley Community Foundation's mission.

We pursue this work in two ways: through grants to nonprofit and school-based programs that boost students' chances of becoming confident and contributing adults; and through scholarships awarded directly to young people in Napa County, which help them afford post-secondary education.

Recently, in partnership with dozens of local donors, we distributed more than $330,000 to nonprofits, schools and students. You can read more about our grants and scholarships  here , or watch this  short video  featuring some of our recent scholarship recipients.

We beam with pride over these amazing young people, and hope you will, too.

Sincerely,

Terence P. Mulligan
