Students are returning to campus, faculty are meeting and planning and everyone is getting fired up for a new academic year at Lake Superior State University!
Laker Week began with Freshman Move-In on Monday, August 20. Dozens of LSSU employees - including Alumni and Foundation staff - helped families haul their belongings into the residence halls.
T
uesday, August 21 was the annual university wide meeting, featuring three high-powered speakers all kicking off their first fall semester at Lake State: President Rodney Hanley, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Lynn Gillette, and John Kawauchi, Vice President for Enrollment Management, Marketing and IT. Look for feature stories on Gillette and Kawauchi in the next Laker Log, due out in late September.
Students have many more
Laker Week activities to look forward to, including a day trip to Mackinac Island, Sault Locks Boat Tour,
Lakerpalooza, Oozeball, bowling, ice cream, comedians, and a hypnotist!
