Do Not Be Easily Deceived
By Karla Maxwell

Recently I was reading in Psalms, Psalm 85 to be exact. When I got to verse 10, this is what my mind read: “Love and faithfulness will never meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other.” I thought that was strange, because if righteousness and peace kiss each other, why wouldn’t love and faithfulness ever meet?? I reread the verse and this time my mind read the truth—Love and faithfulness meet together!
I learned something from that little episode about just how quickly and easily the enemy can distort the truth. He is The Deceiver, always looking for ways to trick us. He tries to get us to believe his lies. Had I not gone back to check if that "love and faithfulness never meet" was truly what The Lord said, I would have been deceived; the truth would have been distorted.
Do the things you tell yourself daily line up with the Word of God or are they lies from the enemy? Do you tell yourself things such as, “I am the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ. I prosper in everything I lay my hand to. I have gifts and talents, and God is using me. I operate in the fruit of the Spirit. I walk in love. Joy flows through me”?

What are you telling yourself? What do you speak to others and about others? What things do you allow others to speak over you? If any of these do not line up with who Christ says you are, they are lies. Do not dwell on the past, do not dwell on the negative. Raise your head and your hands, for you are The Righteousness of God through Jesus Christ. Do not let Satan tell you lies!
Ideas for Christian Fellowship

As Christ-following women, it is so important that we have times of gathering with other Christian believers on a consistent basis to keep ourselves built up and strong in the Lord. Churches have fellowships at times with potluck lunches or sing-a-long nights, but have you ever considered having your own fellowship with just a handful of fellow believers?

The ideas for fellowships are endless! Consider a "Recipe Exchange" where everyone brings their favorite dish and copies of the recipe to exchange. You could end up with new cookbook by just doing this. Or how about a "Make a Pizza Night", or a "Craft" or "Card Making" fellowship. You could have "House Cleaning" parties because who wants to clean alone? It's much more fun to have others along working beside you to accomplish a goal. The goal of cleaning can be for each others' houses or cleaning the house of someone who is unable to clean their own. Create a "Walking Club", or better yet, a "Prayer Walking Club". Set a date for a "Neighborhood Beautification Day" and plant flowers or simply clean up the landscape by picking up uncontained trash. And don't forget you can always end a fellowship with an "Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social"!

Come up with your own "fellowship" and invite others to join in the fun. A cheerful heart is a good medicine! Proverbs 17:22

Promise Helpers is a non-profit Christian ministry for women that seeks to help women experience the fullness of God’s purpose and promises for them. Our desire is to bring women to a place of personal wholeness so they can bring wholeness to their marriages, homes, families and communities. Promise Helpers is women ministering to women, reminding one another of the promises of God and encouraging one another to implement those promises into their daily lives. The foundation of Promise Helpers is prayer, for apart from Jesus Christ we can do nothing.
