Last week Habitat Cape Cod dedicated the 5 new homes on Paul Hush Way in Brewster.

The Paul Hush Way Build is the culmination of many, many hands and hearts. Thank you to everyone who was a part of it, the land aquisition, the design, the many, many, generous donors, the volunteers who built on the coldest of cold days and the hottest of the hot, and the home buyers, who believed in themselves and took that first step towards homeownership a year and a half ago, when they filled out their applications.

                                         Our Dedicated Volunteers

  Welcome Home- Homeowners!

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us!

From the beginning this build overflowed with love and enthusiasm. We are thrilled to welcome everyone back to continue Phase 2 next summer and commence another Blitz Build, for an eventual total of 14 homes in this amazing neighborhood.   Click here for more  Dedication Photos.

Habitat's RIDE FOR HOMES
Sunday, September 23, 2018

It has almost been a year since my children and I took ownership of our beautiful Habitat Home on Virginia Street in Yarmouth.  We can not begin to tell you how grateful and blessed we are to have somewhere to finally call home! Our neighborhood and close proximity to the beach allows us to spend real quality time there almost daily. Thank you just doesn't come close to covering it....So I have decided to participate in Habitat's ride for homes through my employer Mid Cape Home Centers. I think it is very important for everyone to be aware of the housing crisis on Cape Cod and how Habitat is doing everything they can to change that. Ride for Homes Participant and Habitat Homeowner Michelle Blaze.

Do you like biking? Fresh air and pretty views? Spending the day with your friends? Want to enjoy all that while helping a great cause?

Sign up today and help your friends, coworkers and neighbors find affordable and permanent homes right here on the Cape.

Registration is $30 per rider, with each rider being asked to raise at least $300. This event is perfect for the whole family, with a 10-mile route along the Cape Cod Canal and for more serious or adventurous bikers, a route of 40-miles from the Aptucxet Trading Post Museum in Bourne to Woods Hole and back.

After the ride, participants and their   guests will enjoy a family friendly BBQ with live music. Tech shirts given to the first 1 00 sign ups and highest fundraisers will be recognized at the event.

REGISTER online , support our riders, volunteer OR  contact Jess Lachey Habitat Cape Cod's Events Coordinator at [email protected] or 508-362-3559 x18.

UpcomingTOWN NEWS
Falmouth

We are pleased to announce that on August 1st, the Zoning Board of Appeals filed their affirmative decision on our comprehensive permit application for ten Habitat for Humanity homes on Willett Way, off of Barrows road.

This is great news for local families with critical housing needs, and great news for the Falmouth community!

The paper work allowing us to purchase this property is being prepared. The next stage is more detailed designs and permits.

There will be lots of opportunities for community involvement in this project, but home applications and volunteer construction are both a long way off. We have to build a road first!

OTHER sites in early development stages are: Durkee Lane, Wellfleet; Phase 2 Paul Hush Way, Brewster; Murray Lane, Harwich. If you do not see activity now, it is coming soon ....

As always, land prospecting, permitting activity, and early site development is proceeding in multiple locations across the Cape.

In the coming months look for news in various towns about future developments, and CPC grant applications. We hope you will support Habitat at your own town meetings.

ShopSHOP LOCAL
Habitat Cape Cod is blessed with the support of so many friends who care about the affordable housing crisis on Cape Cod.

We rely on the generosity of time and energy from volunteers, funds from donors and sponsors and in-kind donations from those in the business community.
BizChecks Payroll is the local alternative to those huge, impersonal and expensive national payroll companies. They provide all the services of the large nationals for signficantly less. As local business owners for over 20 years, Larry and Laurie Drago understand the unique needs of small companies and will tailor a payroll program to meet those needs.

Habitat is fortunate to have partnered with Bizchecks for many years.
Bizcheck's President Larry (a longtime Habitat volunteer) also served on our Board.  Along with Laurie and their amazing staff, they continue to provide great payroll services to our busy affiliate.

KAYAK RAFFLE

Thank you so much to our friends Pat Taylor and Bill Witmer!  Every year they handcraft a gorgeous wooden kayak and raise funds for Habitat Cape Cod by raffling it off! They will pull the lucky winner's ticket at the Wellfleet Oyster Festival on Sunday, Oct 14th. Please email [email protected] for more information or to purchase a ticket.
