DEAR CIM STUDENTS, FAMILIES & FRIENDS,
July has been a beautiful month of fresh air and sunshine-filled days. I hope you've been enjoying the weather by playing a few tunes on your front porch.

Most importantly, Fall registration is now OPEN. Register now!*

The photo above is from last week's summer ensemble camp when 18 young musicians spent a week together to learning about musicians from each of the four provinces of Ireland, plus a new tune every day. The future is looking bright for trad music with these young ones! Check out the beautiful photos on the Facebook photo album.

Thank you for supporting CIM's summer "bringing the tradition home" fundraising campaign. Your generous gifts will provide scholarships to CIM students to attend Scoil Éigse, a 4-day immersive music workshop before the All-Ireland  Fleadh Cheoil competitions in Drogheda and help CIM instructor, Brian Miller, to direct the 15-18 ceili band rehearsals. We are very proud of the incredible young musicians who will be representing Minnesota in Ireland!

On Saturday morning, July 28th CIM and the Two Tap Trio hosted our first ever Irish music interactive kids show at Can Can Wonderland. The show featured tunes and beloved songs from the Celtic Cuties and Singing Sweeties class that I've been collecting over the past decade of teaching Irish music to young kids, with recent support from CIM instructor Alisa Mee. We hope to collaborate with Can Can again on this, and thanks to Claire Vanorny for dancing (with me....)!

I look forward to seeing you all at the Irish Fair of Minnesota, only 9 days away. Be sure to take a couple of volunteer slots at the CIM booth if you can. If you have more time, the Irish Fair is looking for volunteers as well!

*CIM students: The " students " page on our website will now be updated on a weekly basis. We request that current students bookmark this page and check in regularly to find out about upcoming dates, deadlines, events and student-related announcements, such as the upcoming financial aid deadline of August 15th ! Thank you!
Irish Fair Volunteers Needed!
Each year in August we celebrate all things Irish at the Irish Fair of Minnesota. We hope you will join us for a weekend full of family-friendly music, dance, crafts, sports, and fun with friends.

We are asking for your help in staffing our information booth to spread the word about the Center for Irish Music's classes and programs.

This is a wonderful way to meet fellow CIM students and families AND to share your enthusiasm for CIM with fair passers-by.

Plan on joining us all three days of the fair to hear great music from our ensembles and instructors - and to cheer them on! See our student and instructor schedules below, or view the complete Irish Fair performance schedule on the Irish Fair's website .
