Spotlight on Ilene Feldmeier
Ilene Feldmeier grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and was active in cross country, track and field, and band. She was also a yearbook writer and editor for several years. Ilene originally wanted a career in journalism but while attending college at Missouri State University, her focus switched to business law. After graduating college, Ilene took a break from school and did restaurant management for 3 years in Kansas City and Denver before attending law school.
Ilene's plan was to become a transactional business lawyer because she hates public speaking and did not want to handle large jury trials - like the type you see on TV with packed courtrooms of people watching you. During law school at the University of Denver, Ilene did a clerkship with the Office of Administrative Courts and got to see administrative hearings first hand. Ilene realized she was more interested in the strategy and maneuvers involved in litigation, rather than writing contracts. Ilene went on to do a trial practicum and discovered she could overcome her fear of public speaking plus put all her past journalism classes and experience to good use writing oral arguments and briefs. Ilene has been practicing workers' compensation for 12 years and has worked at Pollart Miller for 11 of those years. Ilene is licensed to practice in Arizona, Colorado and Idaho.
In her free time, Ilene enjoys spending time with her husband - Brian, her son - Brayden (8), her daughter - Peyton (6), and her mini Australian Shepard - Shelby. They enjoy travel, especially cruises and trips to Disney World. Ilene is also an avid runner. She has completed numerous half marathons and is currently training for the Disney World Dopey Challenge to do 50 miles in 4 days, including her first full marathon. If she completes this, it will add several new medals to her "Wall of Bling."
