Now in the Gallery!
Up, Up and AWAY

From now through Labor Day, the KAA is full of images that will carry you high and far, as you take in our members' artistic interpretations of this current theme.  Kites, flowers, clouds, balloons, foreign lands, mountains, birds, sails, sunrises....all will take you up, up and away while your feet remain firmly on our gallery floors.

Our Spotlight Wall for this show features the work of our member Marlane  Bottino, whose art reflects her deep interest in and understanding of the concepts of feng shui and the natural elements. Don't forget to spend some time on the second floor and take in this body of work!
Also in the gallery:

At Kittery Art Association, art is even more than the wonderful works we hang on the walls and perch on our pedestals.  Do you know the items in the upstairs card racks and both the upstairs and downstairs display cases are frequently rotated, refreshed, renewed?

Don't forget to take a closer look the next time you stop by 8 Coleman Avenue - you might see just the perfect treat for you rself or gift for a special someone!

KAA Annual Meeting and Member Potluck, Sunday, October 27

Stay tuned for important details!

Coming up next:
The Seacoast Moderns

FLOURISH, the next collaborative installation by the KAA's Seacoast Moderns group, will be up in the gallery from September 5 - October 13. The opening reception will take place at the gallery on Sunday, September 8 and all are invited to come, see the exhibit and meet and talk to the participating artists.

This year is  The Seacoast Moderns'  NINTH year making and showing art together! Although the group numbers have fluctuated over time, there has been a core group that has been together all nine years. Interested artists (who are also members of KAA) are invited to come visit during a regular monthly meeting (third Wednesday of the month). Contact Karen Camlin for meeting particulars and/or more information about this group.
The Seacoast Moderns never fail to disappoint, and we look forward to seeing what they will bring us this fall!

Thank You, KSB!

The Kittery Art Association recently received a generous donation from the Kennebunk Savings Bank.  Support from our members and our sponsors  keeps us going, and we are so grateful for this recognition of the importance of art in the local community!

Can you give us one hour on one evening?

Happenings at the gallery are so vital to our vibrant presence in the area.  Think of the times you've enjoyed the energy, art, connection and general good time at a KAA opening reception or concert.  Well, we need some volunteers to help with these events - especially staying to do some clean-up afterward.

If you can help, even one time this year, for an opening reception or a concert, please call the gallery or click this link to email our volunteer coordinator extraordinaire, board member Beth Newkirk.

Thank you!!

Beach Pea Baking Co. Exhibit:
Alice Lee Timmins

Alice Lee Timmins has been an active member of the Kittery Art Association for eight years.  She is pleased to have her art photography on exhibit at the Beach Pea for the months of July and August of 2019.  Her works are inspired by the Caldecott Medal for Children's Illustrated Books.  Alice strives to create
a world of "photo poems" where the child in all of us can see the world from a colorful, inspiring poet's eye.  Her photos are often taken during the KAA's en plein air events, then she digitally re-imagines each
image using layers of filtered software until just the right tone is struck.  Come enjoy a scone and a cuppa and see the works July 1 through August 31.

Beach Pea Baking Co. is located at 53 State Road in Kittery, ME, and is open from 7:30 am to 6:00pm.
