When they were and will be activated. As you know eclipses are not one off events. They reverberate and activate degrees that then get reactivated when planets aspect them. How they fit in with the Saturn, Ketu (South Node), Pluto configurations this summer.
What they will do through the houses (in relation to either your ascendant or sun sign) and if they activate certain planets
Where in the world these eclipses might be active. I have already told my classes that if you look at the path of the total solar eclipse on July 2nd it will be 100 percent visible off the coast of New Zealand and through Chile and Argentina. But that is not the only place that will be affected. More important when is the trigger.
The workshop will be presented from a Tropical and Sidereal (Vedic) perspective because as you know I consider the planets and their relationship to one another to be most important and they will be in the same relationship to the eclipses regardless of sign and nakshatra.

Hi all
Welcome
to those who are longtime subscribers and those of you who have recently subscribed. As I started to write this August newsletter, writing about how Mercury, is direct, eclipse season is over, and Jupiter will go direct on August 11, we were hit with these awful shootings over the weekend. I have to once again (when will it stop?) send my condolences to all the families and friends of those who were killed and injured in the mass murders in El Paso and Dayton. From an astrological standpoint, please look over my handouts from the 2019 Sensitive Degrees Webinar, and all my postings of eclipses. I always indicate when the Nodes, and the malefic planets cross the eclipse degree. many times there are events that make an impact like unfortunately attacks, crashes, floods, hurricanes, earthquakes etc. On August 4th Saturn retrograde came to the solar eclipse degree of January 6 and Mercury, just having gone direct a few days earlier, crossed the eclipse degree of the July 16 lunar eclipse.. Just a heads up to watch for when planets hit eclipse degrees before or after the eclipse. Additionally Mars in the sidereal zodiac had entered its gandanta degree on the weekend meaning the last three degrees of water signs. In this case Mars, already debilitated in Cancer, entered 27 degrees, so in terms of Indian astrology the violence of Mars, along with Saturn hitting eclipse degree could be part of what went wrong. Even though August will have some beautiful aspects to look forward too, we are still surrounded by the Saturn-Ketu conjunction which will start to separate in early October.

Mercury and Jupiter Direct
Mercury Direct.
This month Mercury and Jupiter finally station direct. As some of you have noted Mercury retrograde in July contributed to making this eclipse season one of the more difficult ones I have experienced in a while. Mercury stationed retrograde on July 7, 2019 at 11:14 PM GMT at tropical 4° Leo 27'/sidereal (Indian) 10° Cancer 26' in Pushya nakshatra (ruled by Saturn). Mercury stationed direct on August 1, 2019 at 3:57 AM GMT at tropical 23° Cancer 56'/sidereal (Indian) 29° Gemini 55' in Punarvasu nakshatra (ruled by Jupiter). The inferior conjunction, which occurs midway through that cycle when Mercury is closest to earth, occurred on July 21, 2019 at t
ropical 28° Cancer 28'/sidereal 4
° Cancer 26' in Pushya nakshatra. This is the date that the retrograde is most intense, and if you had something around this degree then you just want to be extra diplomatic when speaking to people, and making sure that you do not do anything impulsively or in haste. Mercury retrograde problems are usually not dire and life-altering but they can be very annoying. That's all.
But remember that even though Mercury is direct, it is still in its shadow period or, as I like to call it, its retrograde arc. That period extends from June 20, 2019 when it first crossed the degree where Mercury eventually went direct (tropical 23° Cancer 56'/sidereal (Indian) 29° Gemini 55') on August 1, and ends on August 15 when it crosses the degree where Mercury went retrograde (4° Leo 27'/sidereal (Indian) 10° Cancer 26') on July 7. So even though Mercury was retrograde between July 7-August 1, the period between June 20-August 15 is what is known as the retrograde arc or shadow. It simply means that Mercury retrograde will wield its influence in your chart if you have planets, angles or points between the Mercury retrograde degrees, that is, tropical 23° Cancer 56'-4° Leo 27', or sidereal (Indian) 29° Gemini 55'-10° Cancer 26'. You will then have had the Mercury retrograde come to that degree, three times, once before it retrogrades, once as it retrogrades and once as it goes direct for a final time. If you have something on the stationary degrees, it will hit those degrees twice, but when it stations is when Mercury is most powerful. The retrograde transit may have been the most problematic, but now it will move forward quickly, but take note when it hits degrees of planets, angles, or points in your chart.
If you had to revise, or redo or go over something more slowly and methodically, now that Mercury is moving quickly you will find the way to set things straight and in motion. If you want to review what this Mercury retrograde period was about you can go to

Jupiter Direct.
The other good news of the month is that Jupiter is going direct on August 11 after four months of retrograde motion. As you read this newsletter Jupiter is already stationing, and it does mean that after four months of things slowing up that have to do with rewards, profits, sales, and areas of your chart where Jupiter has traveled through, or points, planets, and angles where it has passed three times, Jupiter will move forward and you may finally finish projects that were stuck, sell homes that you could not sell or did not want to sell for a low price, Right now it is stationing so for the next few days it is at the strongest position that it can be.
Jupiter stationed retrograde on April 10, 2019 at 5:00 pm GMT at tropical 24° Sagittarius 21'/ sidereal 0° Sagittarius 19', Mula naksatra, which is ruled by Ketu but in a sign ruled by Jupiter. Jupiter will station direct on August 11, 2019 at 1:37 pm GMT at tropical 14° Sagittarius 30'/sidereal 20° Scorpio 28', Jyeṣṭha nakshatra, ruled by Mercury but in a sign ruled by Mars. The Sun-Jupiter opposition, which occurs midway through that cycle when Jupiter is closest to earth, occurred on
June 10 at 3:27 pm at 19° Gemini 28'/19° Sagittarius 28'. In the sidereal system it occurred at 25 Taurus 27/25 Scorpio 27, and that is the date when Jupiter was most intense. Remember that even though Jupiter is the greater benefic, the retrograde motion means that things may happen much more slowly or even in reverse of expansive expectations.
It affected you personally if you have any planets, points, or angles between tropical 24° Sagittarius 21'/ sidereal 0° Sagittarius 19' and 14° Sagittarius 30'/sidereal 20° Scorpio 28' since Jupiter hits those degrees three times--when Jupiter goes direct, then retrograde, and then direct. If you have anything around the stationary points, then you will get hit twice, but it will be the most intense transit because it is a station, which means the planet is slower-moving and close to the earth. That period extended from January 14, 2019, when Jupiter crossed 14° Sagittarius 30'/sidereal 20° Scorpio 28', the degree where it stations direct, through November 6, 2019, when Jupiter crosses the degree where it stationed retrograde at tropical 24° Sagittarius 21'/ sidereal 0° Sagittarius 19'. Just find the three times it hits the planet, point, or angle in your chart, and mark the house or houses it is in, and push through over the next few months what may have stalled. That retrograde Jupiter transit however, and the stationary degrees when it is still retrograde, will not bring you the Jupiterian benefits, you had hoped for, but now that Jupiter is direct, you can make it happen. Since Jupiter goes retrograde for four months every year, I always follow it as a time when things slow up and then once it moves direct things and projects start to speed up. this is especially true if you have a planet or point that falls in between the retrograde and direct degrees since it will hit something three times, and even more important if you have a point or planet on the retrograde or direct stationary degree as then the pace and influence of it really matters. I remember when I was working on completing my Master's Thesis a few years ago and I saw that Jupiter was stationing retrograde over my Midheaven degree. I assumed rightly so that it meant that my thesis would not be completed when I wanted it to, and the message for me in fact was not to rush it but to take my time even if it meant that it would be finished a few months after my projected date. And in fact that was what happened, and I was really happy with the final product. But when i saw that it was going to retrograde it immediately eased my mind and relaxed me.
Even through the horrors of last weekend's massacres, there are some lovely transits on the horizon as follows. If these planets form trines or sextiles to planets, points, and angles in your chart, especially the ones involving Jupiter, you might just get some good news, something we all can use.
