It's Right Whale Season

Researchers spotted four North Atlantic right whale calves and mothers in the Gulf of Lawrence! Unfortunately, three right whale entanglements were also recently documented, and attempts to disentangle two of the three whales were only partially successful. This year eight right whales have died, marking a significant impact on this endangered species. We've got our fingers crossed for more positive calf sightings as the season progresses.

Advocacy Update: SAVE Right Whales Act

Meet Calvin: A Life Size North Atlantic right whale calf.

W2O went to the Massachusetts State House this week to save our right whales. We joined the New England Aquarium and International Fund for Animal Welfare in support of the SAVE Right Whales Act (H.R. 1568), which would provide critical protections for the endangered North Atlantic right whales. Search for your legislator here, and call to ask for their support in Congress!
