Mayor's Message
August means back to school for many students and Pasadena City Hall is blessed to be home to the second annual Fill the Bus school supply drive benefitting Pasadena students and teachers. Every year we team up with Pasadena Independent School District and the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce to collect school supplies. Pasadena ISD is a Title 1 school district with almost 80% of the student body qualifying as economically disadvantaged. Unfortunately, millions of dedicated teachers across the country often supplement classroom supplies using their personal money. Our aim is to help our local teachers and families by collecting much-needed classroom supplies and making them available free of charge at a designated faculty pick-up day. Fill the Bus is just one community event that would not be possible without the generosity of our business partners, community leaders and dedicated residents. Be sure to follow our social media, website and Pasadena Channel for more great news and event coverage year-round.
