Reach for the Stars Gala
It is our pleasure to invite you to Hope Center Houston’s fourth annual gala honoring Commissioner and Mrs. Jack Cagle. Our Reach for the Stars event will be held Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 6:00 pm at Shirley Acres. The evening includes dinner, music, silent and live auctions, and an inspiring program featuring our guests’ success stories. Bring your friends and join us for a remarkable evening benefiting Hope Center Houston.
Ryan Anderson's Grant
Thankful for the generosity of former Houston Rocket Ryan Anderson. His donation will help Hope Center Houston's staff and volunteers continue offering services to our guests.

Ryan's message to the Center after his visit in August:
Please convey my thanks for their hospitality -- we felt like long-lost family, and for the recognition they generously gave us for the contributions, and mostly for inspiring us with so very much that everyone had to offer -- their service... their obvious commitment, dedication and service... their hearts and passion for their causes... and the inspiration they gave us for what people can do to make a difference.

Volunteers Needed
Our volunteers are the heart of our center and we could not survive without them. Increasing the services offered at our new facility along with a larger facility to maintain, we are in need of new volunteers. Even if you only have three hours per week to contribute, your assistance is needed and welcomed. Visit our website at 1960hopecenter.com or call 832-965-5511 for more info.
Volunteers, you bless us in so many ways and we thank you!
Volunteer of the Month

Look up the term "Servant's Heart" in the dictionary and you will surely find a picture of Evelyn Stokes. As a co-founder of Hope Center Houston, Evelyn has served as board secretary for three years. Evelyn is often found caring for our guests and assisting with Center events, such as the Girl Scouts' patio area donation days and our new building move-in days. Always a willing volunteer, Evelyn recently retired from teaching and has contributed even more time to Hope Center Houston. Evelyn has a passion for serving others and we are blessed to have her as part of our ministry.
Community Connections
Thankful for our connection to Finishing Touch Ministries: Despite trauma and abuse throughout years of homelessness and shelter living, B has kept her faith in the Lord, knowing that He will (and he DOES) provide. Several years ago, B was able to move into her own apartment, but it remained mostly empty. She confided in us that a few years ago after seeing a TV show about a home makeover, she had prayed and told the Lord that “it sure would be nice if something like that happened to her one day.  We are so grateful to God and to The Hope Center for directing us to B.
