IPHC Churches Experience Growthiphc
As the International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC) seeks to accomplish the goals of  Arise 2033, churches are catching the vision, implementing new strategies, experiencing growth, and impacting their communities.

Pastor Navil Vaughan in Westville, Oklahoma, grew up as a pastor's kid in the Westville P.H. Church and assumed the pastorate in 2008. Although regular attendance hovered around 140 in a town of 1,500, he felt God wanted to do something more.

When the church celebrated its centennial in 2016, it received a prophetic word about changing its name. After much prayer, the congregation took the bold move to rename the 100-year-old church to Westville Impact Church. According to Pastor Vaughan, the new name helped bring a renewed focus and identity to the church.

During this time, the church also began to experience a powerful move of God. A wife of one of the church leaders received instantaneous healing from a rare, life-threatening disease.  This powerful testimony catapulted the church into a revival with miraculous healings and transformed lives. Another young lady received salvation and deliverance from drug addiction. She is now leading Hope for Today, a support group for people who are recovering from addiction.

With a rekindled passion, the church began to embrace its new identity and impact its community which sits in one of the poorest counties in the state. Whether through providing meals for local school children in the summer or cleaning city streets, the church is constantly looking for ways to share Christ's love. As Pastor Vaughan puts it, "When we lift Him up, He draws people."  Read more
A Word for You: Time for a Shift, Accelerate Into Your Destinywordforyou

Simon T. Bailey's presentation was part of the celebration of Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake, Sr. and First Lady Mae L. Blake's 50th Anniversary in ministry, which West Angeles is celebrating all year long.

Bailey's dynamic presentation titled "It's Time For A Shift" focused on Jeremiah 29:11. Said the former Disney executive, "When you begin to pay attention to what God wants to do in you, it causes a shift to come about."

"I've been praying and asking God what I am to share with West Angeles, and the Lord dropped in my spirit, 'It is time for your shift... 'S.H.I.F.T.' stands for: 'See How I Fit Tomorrow Today.'"

"Whenever God is about to release you into a new destiny, you will come to a place where you're sick and tired of being sick and tired."   Click through for more highlights from his sermon.

Dr. Kerry Wood
Dr. Kerry Wood, founder of Table of Friends, teaches at the King's University and Shiloh University.

What's your advice to someone starting out in the ministry?
Don't wait until you get your formal training completed before "putting your hand to the plow".  It is on-the-ground practical experience that gives you the questions you need to be asking.  Until we know the right questions, we don't hear the answers even if someone is feeding them to us.  And you never have to apologize for improving yourself, no matter what the arena.

What are you reading right now?
Spiritual/biblical/pastoral:  THE PARABLES OF GRACE by Robert Farrar Capon; Eerdmans, 2000.
Recreational/Cultural:  TWELVE RULES FOR LIFE by Jordan B. Peterson; Random House Canada, 2018.

Fun fact about me...
After 40 years of pastoral ministry I have grown to enjoy landscaping and gardening, primarily because I can dig a hole in the ground, drop a plant in, and see "instant transformation", in contrast to the long-term, steady work of spiritual nurture and writing books.
What the NextGen Cohort is Readingnextgen
Twenty Next Gen leaders from 19 different tribes in PCCNA have agreed to read the same book.  Having finished Lee Grady's 2010 classic,  The Holy Spirit is Not for Sale, and more recently PCCNA's publication with author Dean Merrill,  Miracle Invasion, they are now reading together Dr. Kerry Wood's  Gifts of the Spirit for a New Generation. At the conclusion of each book, the Cohort discusses the message, impact, and influence of the book with one another. The group is encouraged to apply the biblical, kingdom principles from the book into their individual ministries.

Dr. Wood shared how surprised he was, as a professor in a Spirit-empowered University, to have students in his class who were not baptized in the Holy Spirit and not even familiar with the gifts of the Spirit. This book is, in part, an action he took to address this situation.  PCCNA president, Jeff Farmer, says, "Every Pentecostal charismatic leader in North America should read this book.  It is strategic to passing a Spirit-empowered faith to the next generation."

Dr. Wood is offering a 30% discount to PCCNA members who order the book on his website. Enter "PCCNA30" when you checkout to get the discount.
