CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE:
Graham Pence, Sarah Aguilar, and the Summer Conference Committee did a fantastic job of providing a new location and a fresh schedule for this year's conference. We gathered at the Springhill Inn and Suites in Paso Robles for the Royal Ascot themed conference. Friday evening the technical session was presented by Rick Ziebell, from RDAbbott, on the topic of "Megatrends: How Rubber Can Help." There was a golf tournament Saturday morning. Then later that morning, attendees enjoyed a variety of pre-planned events or had the day to themselves to enjoy the nearby sights and activities. With fun and games taking place after Saturday evening's dinner, that freed up the entire afternoon to be enjoyed.

We have two scheduled golf tournaments coming up: a TLARGI-sponsored tournament on August 12 at the Alta Vista Country Club in Placentia and the GLTPC-sponsored tournament on September 16 at the Western Hills Country Club in Chino Hills. There is also the possibility of a third tournament in November to finish the year.

The end of summer will be here before you know it and that means the start of TLARGI's Basic Rubber Technology course. The course will be presented by Rick Ziebell and Matt Rogers of RDAbbott. The course is 20 weeks long and starts September 5. Follow this link to enroll or get more details.

Our next dinner meeting will be the annual Oktoberfest. This event is scheduled for October 1, 2019, at the Phoenix Club in Anaheim. The day will be kicked off in the afternoon with the Technical Conference, followed by the Mini Expo and dinner meeting. Look for updates on the Technical Conference and be sure to sign up. The expo tables are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis, so be sure to sign up for those early as well.

If you haven't received emails from the Rubber Division, ACS, about its International Elastomer Conference, it is scheduled for October 8 - 10, 2019, at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Follow this link for more details.

There is no November dinner meeting scheduled for this year. The next event after our Oktoberfest will be the Christmas Party on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at the Hilton Orange County Costa Mesa. Deena Campana, Erika Pence, and the Christmas Party Committee have been planning the details of this much anticipated event.
