New HGIC Webpages
The Home & Garden Information Center (HGIC) staff have been hard at work updating many pages that are great resources for MGs. We wanted to share one of their newest additions- a page on Glyphosate information and alternatives.
Volunteer at the State Fair in the MG Learning Garden!
UME Master Gardeners are at the State Fair again this year! MGs will be serving as garden docents and staffing a tent next to the UME Master Gardener Learning Garden, a collaboration between Baltimore City and Baltimore County MGs. This is open to all MGs regardless of County/City of certification! Volunteers can sign up for up to 2 shifts (only 1 shift can be a weekend). Please sign up by August 15.
New continuing education opportunity: Living Architecture Lecture
October 24, 2019 | College Park | $10-$15
Join us for this guest lecture from  Furbish , the company who designed and installed green walls at both Stamp Student Union and McKeldin Library! Furbish innovates and develops living systems, primarily green roofs and green walls, to benefit the built environment. They deploy natural systems, which make economic sense for every building, to improve our health and the environment.
Learn from these experts how you can utilize green walls, green roofs, and vertical gardens in your community.

Water-Wise is a conservation landscape certification program that is NEW and exclusive to Garrett County.
