Do Something for CancerCare

We are excited to announce a new fundraising campaign called Do Something for CancerCare, launching today, August 11. This is a "Do It Yourself/GoFundMe" way to raise money. Participating is fun and easy! Ask your family and friends to support you as you practice a hobby you enjoy or show off a hidden skill. Do you want to walk or run a 5K? Run on a treadmill for an hour? Play your guitar or piano and give a virtual concert? Clean out the garage you've been talking about doing for years? Everyone can do something. Learn more about the campaign and get some ideas on how you can support our free programs and services in the video below.

Managing a cancer diagnosis has always come with a series of challenges. During the pandemic, people affected by cancer are "managing everything all at once on triple the scale," says CancerCare oncology social worker, Marlee Kiel, LMSW. In a recent NPR article, "Pandemic Deepens Cancer's Stress And Tough Choices," Kiel and others talk about the heightened worries of those affected by cancer in the time of the coronavirus.
