Message from Councilmember David Spencer
Reflect and Give Thanks

As we all are living through this pandemic and trying to keep our lives somewhat normal, I have reflected back to my past and looked forward to the future.

My family and I will be celebrating my Dad’s 90 th  birthday in September.
He served in the Air Force for 28 years, fought in Vietnam and received a purple heart. Being an "Air Force Brat", I am very much aware of the sacrifices that are made by families who choose to serve our country. I want to thank all the men and women that are serving or have served to fight for the freedoms we enjoy today.

As I ponder on our freedoms and all those that have given their lives to protect them, let us always remember and give thanks for their sacrifice. As an Orem citizen and elected official, I want to let our first responders know that I support them 100%.
I truly appreciate the Orem Police and Fire Departments for all they do for our city.
Orem is a very safe city, because of their dedication and willingness to put their lives on the line every day. They keep my family and your families safe and protected.

I also appreciate our City employees for the work they do to keep the City running.
We are very blessed to have so many people who are committed to make Orem a great city to live in.

During this challenging time, I hope we can all reflect on our past and appreciate the sacrifices that have and are being made for us. Let us all choose to be a little kinder, not be offended so easily, and look for opportunities to serve others around us.
I am proud to be an American and I am grateful for the freedoms we enjoy. May God bless America and our great City of Orem!

David Spencer, Orem City Council
Become a Fitness Founder
The new Orem Family Fitness Center is going to be a revolution for health, wellness, and fun here in the City of Orem.

We’re in the homestretch of this project and we’re excited to announce the formation of "The Founders Circle." This group of early donors and pass holders will receive special perks for joining the fitness revolution before the center has opened. Founders Circle members can get guided tours of the construction site, limited edition swag, their names featured in the building, lifetime membership discounts, and so much more.

You can be part of this founding group of donors for as little as $25. There will be different tiers of benefits depending on the amount donated. A local family with deep ties to Orem has generously offered to match all donations to the new fitness center up to $25,000.

All donations to the Founders Circle are tax deductible and will be used for enhancements and new amenities in the fitness center.

Census 2020
Responding to the 2020 Census is easy, safe, and important. Learn more about the questions we’ll ask and how your answers will be used at t.ly/fvj3

The Census Bureau will never ask you for:
• your social security number
• money or donations
• anything on behalf of a political party
• your bank or credit card account numbers.

If anyone claiming to be a census workers asks for any of these things it is a sure sign you're face to face with a shyster.
