OCTOBER IS MANUFACTURING MONTH
Join manufacturers from all across the country who are hosting students and educators at their manufacturing facilities. Manufacturing Day is officially October 4th but you can plan an event or tour anytime during the month of October. 

How can you participate?

  • Host a Student Tour at your Manufacturing Facility
  • Sponsor the Student's T-Shirts for their Tours & to be worn at the Manufacturing 5K (Your company name will be listed on the back of the shirts and your logo will be featured on the BAMA Website)
  • Donate to the Manufacturing Month Events (Your company logo will be featured on the BAMA Website)
MANUFACTURING DAYS AT THE CAPITOL
The advocacy trip to Tallahassee has been organized by Florida Manufacturers and Logistics Council (FMLC) for October 22-23. The trip has been changed to an earlier time (than last year) due to the change in dates of the Florida Legislative Session.

The BAMA Government Affairs Committee is coordinating with other regional manufacturers associations throughout Florida to develop a list of legislative goals for the 2020 legislative session. If you are interested in joining the BAMA Government Affairs Committee, please contact either Grant Petersen at grant.petersen@ogletree.com or Beth Galic at beth@bama-fl.org. 

The Florida Manufacturing and Logistics Council (FMLC) is currently surveying manufacturers to establish the Florida Manufacturing Legislative Agenda for the 2020-21 Florida Legislative Session.

ALL NEW BAMA ROUNDTABLE SERIES
Theme for 2019-2020: Speed and Innovation

Format changes:
We are planning four Roundtables for the BAMA fiscal year. Each event will feature 2-4 presenters on topics within the theme of Speed and Innovation. The presenters will have approximately 10-15 minutes of content, 10 minutes of show and tell/demo and then 10 minutes of Q&A during a networking break.

The event will feature appetizers, one drink ticket per person, cash bar and dessert. The concept is a lot idea-sharing, interaction, networking and relationship building.

To add to the learning event and sharing of ideas, we will be inviting BAMA manufacturing members to submit innovations implemented in their operation and then present a 60-second “innovation minute” at the RoundTable event. 

We are planning other elements such as contests, games, etc. We want the events to be action-packed, filled with learning, member interaction and relationship building.

Tampa Bay Partnership recently launched the first-in-Florida Talent Pipeline Management (TM) initiative in which they are working with a collaborative of manufacturers to strategically develop talent pipelines in specific, in-demand occupations. This is a cutting edge process, led by business, utilizing supply chain management techniques to meet talent requirements.
