COVID 19- New Guidelines!

As the pandemic continues to evolve so do the management and expectations for 4-H programming. The Cooperative Extension Marin Office and 4-H programming has established new precautions as of July 1, 2021. Masks and social distancing are no longer required for outdoor meetings. Indoor use of masks varies. Further precautions exist. IN THE SPOTLIGHT for Marin County 4-H!

Marin County 4-H is committed to promoting higher education. With help from donors, scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors and college-attending students. The Marin 4-H Council offers scholarship funds to eligible candidates. Individual awards vary in amount, with amounts ranging from $250 to $1,000, provided to 1 to 5 recipients. The amount and number of awards are based on the number of applications received, the merits of each applicant, and amount of available funding. Previous scholarship recipients may reapply.
Congratulations to Taylor Boothe, Morgan Boothe, Logan Pomi, and Emily Charlton of Marin County 4-H! The leadership and commitment to Marin County 4-H by these recipients has been outstanding. We honor, thank, and commend the achievement of these incredible 4-H leaders from H Lane (Emily Charlton), Indian Valley Club (Taylor and Morgan Boothe), Teen Club (Taylor and Morgan Boothe), San Rafael Club (Emily Charlton) and Tri-Valley Club (Logan Pomi). Good luck with all your future and ongoing endeavors in college!

National 4-H STEM Summit (Virtual)

Even though you may not know it, your daily life is connected to space. Hospitals, banks, streetlights, gas pumps, phones, televisions and, and more use a vast network of satellites orbiting our planet. At the 2021 STEM Summit, participants will work with peers and group leaders on a variety of workshops and collaborative exercises. Each virtual session will test and strengthen foundational STEM skills while participants wrestle with the same questions as today’s top aerospace scientists and engineers. eXtension Learning Management Courses and Updates!
|
eXtension Campus is the learning management system (LMS) for the California 4-H Youth Development Program. The system offers a broad range of interesting and diverse online courses for individuals of all ages. To access a list of all the online courses offered through the CA 4-H State Office, visit the CA 4-H Learning and Development page.
Below is a list of some new features and course updates designed to increase the quality of the user experience:
- Mobile App available for phones, tablets, and desktop computers (Limited course offering in first year pilot).
- Ability to create multiple eXtension accounts from a shared email address.
- Simplified course structure on annual New and Returning Volunteer Courses.

New Support Website with video and written tutorials.

Updated Support Ticketing System.
- Short, anonymous user-feedback surveys for each lesson/course offered.
Annual New and Returning Volunteer Courses
As mentioned above, the New & Returning Volunteer Courses have been revised with a simplified course structure for the 2021-2022 program year. Also, these courses are part of the mobile app pilot! The updated courses will be available July 1, 2021 – June 29, 2022, in the eXtension system.
