Safe Church—The online platform for Safe Church training has recently changed to Praesidium Academy. Unfortunately it was launched before all the kinks were worked out. People who need training should not use this platform until further notice.

Please keep a record of who will need the training, and when the platform is ready, The Very Rev. Katherine Doyle, administrator of Safe Church for the Diocese, will assist with registrations. People may begin volunteering or working prior to the training. She will offer a “in person” (Zoom) training early this fall.

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in the All Saints Fundraiser and made it a huge success! We raised $14,400 dollars through 40 individual donations. We will use these funds to make improvements to the lower campus including the building of a boathouse and a renovation of Kohler Cabin.

We can’t wait to share these improvements, and other new features we have added over the past 18 months including a state-of-the-art Disc Golf Course, and an Archery Range. Additionally, with the support of the Daughters of The King and many other donors, we will be installing an 11 circuit Chartres Labyrinth this Fall on the upper campus behind the Inn.

The Center for Religion and Environment at the University of the South is resuming its monthly webinar series on Thursday, August 26th at 6:30 p.m. Central time. During this webinar, Rev. The Rev. Dick Schmidt has served parishes in five U.S. dioceses and has taught at seminaries in the U.S., England, and Nigeria. He is the author of seven books on spirituality and was most recently editor of "Forward Day by Day." He and Pam, his wife of 53 years, are the parents of three grown sons and live in Shelbyville, Ky.

The Rev. James Hobart is a life-long Christian raised in the Episcopal Faith and Traditions. Fr. James was a Deacon for about 3 years and was recently ordained Priest by The Rt. Rev. Katharine Jefferts-Schori. Having recently moved from Las Vegas, NV, he and his wife, Laura, settled in Prospect. Fr. James is a retired airline pilot and currently works full time for the FAA in Louisville.

The Rev. Canon E. Mark Stevenson currently serves as Canon to the Presiding Bishop for Ministry within The Episcopal Church. Before being called to his current role in September 2018, Canon Stevenson was the Director of Episcopal Migration Ministries, and a member of the staff of the Presiding Bishop. He served as Canon to the Ordinary in the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana from August 2005 until September 2013. Canon Stevenson and his wife, Joy, currently reside in Louisville, Kentucky.
