June Featured Release

An epic, immersive debut, Damnation Spring is the deeply human story of a Pacific Northwest logging town wrenched in two by a mystery that threatens to derail its way of life.

"For generations, Rich Gundersen's family has made its living by cutting trees along the rugged California coast for the powerful Sanderson Timber Company. When Rich's wife begins to suspect that chemical defoliants used by the company are causing miscarriages and birth defects in the area, her tentative alliance with the concerns of an environmental group makes her family a target of retribution and jeopardizes Rich's plans to harvest timber on his own land. The author invests the Gundersens, Rich, Colleen, and their young son Chub, with a strength and courage to endure that matches the ancient redwoods that tower over their majestic surroundings. This is a vitally important American novel and the complex issues it explores still resonate ominously in today's world." ~ Reviewed by Alden Graves

Pre-order Highlight

Chief Inspector Armand Gamache returns to Three Pines in #1 New York Times bestseller Louise Penny's latest spellbinding novel

While the residents of the Québec village of Three Pines take advantage of the deep snow to ski and toboggan, to drink hot chocolate in the bistro and share meals together, the Chief Inspector finds his holiday with his family interrupted by a simple request to provide security for what promises to be a non-event. A visiting Professor of Statistics will be giving a lecture at the nearby university.

It sounds easy enough. That is until Gamache starts looking into Professor Abigail Robinson and discovers an agenda so repulsive he begs the university to cancel the lecture. They refuse, citing academic freedom, and accuse Gamache of censorship and intellectual cowardice. Before long, Professor Robinson’s views start seeping into conversations. Spreading and infecting. So that truth and fact, reality and delusion are so confused it’s near impossible to tell them apart. Discussions become debates, debates become arguments, which turn into fights. As sides are declared, a madness takes hold.
