Was your nonprofit involved in the County's COVID-19 Response?
Respond to a Survey to Help Document Your Efforts
Montgomery County’s Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (OEMHS), the Community Organization Active in Disaster (COAD), and Non-Profit Montgomery have partnered to put together an After Action Report (AAR) that captures the efforts of the non-profit sector during the pandemic and highlights the important role that non-profit organizations played in the COVID-19 response. Your responses - due by August 16 - will help inform the County and improve future emergency responses.

The survey consists of 21 questions and should take less than 15 minutes to complete. Your answers will not be attributed to you or your organization in the After Action Report unless you provide explicit consent for us to do so. Click here to complete the survey.
Gilchrist Immigrant Resource Center
Giving Back. That's Just What We Do
Nearly five years ago, Gerardo, an immigrant from Callao City, Peru, made Montgomery County his home. To improve his English language skills, Gerardo signed up for ESOL classes hosted by the Gilchrist Immigrant Resource Center.

A year into taking his classes and impressed by the services offered by the Gilchrist volunteers, Gerardo wanted to give back. He signed up as a volunteer at the Center.

When asked why he decided to volunteer at the center, Gerardo said "My ESOL teachers, Michael and Kathleen, were so wonderful and patient, they made me enjoy taking the class and I was learning a lot. I felt at home in my class..."
