Fill in the Blank


Sewing Machine Service is offering Kimberbell’s monthly program “Fill in the BLANK." Each month a new Fill in the BLANK project and design for both sewing and machine embroidery options will be released. With the purchase of the limited edition blank, you will receive the project instructions and designs at no additional cost. Kit prices will vary each month. Fill in the BLANK program is open to all brands of machines and can be shipped.

Pet Kerchiefs

August’s Project: “You Had Me at Woof” and “You Had Me at Meow”



Dress your fur-ever friends in a Kimberbell Pet Kerchief. Both sewing and embroidery instructions include each design in 3 sizes. The pet kerchiefs are cut to size: stitch, then slip onto pet collar with the snapped casing. 

Cost is $16.95 per kit, includes bandana blank, project instructions and designs. Embroidery leather, stabilizer and thread not included.


Due to shipping delays, August's project won't be available until mid-month.

Home Sweet Haunted Home

Two-Day Virtual Event

Looking to raise your “spirits?” Treat yourself to Home Sweet Haunted Home! At Kimberbell’s two-day machine embroidery event, you’ll create five bewitching projects with other stitching enthusiasts. First, stop for a spell at the Dead & Breakfast Tea Towel, then make a Haunted Home 3D House with Kimberbell Shape Form and bedazzling Fairy Lights. Perfectly Quilted Pumpkins are made and quilted in-the-hoop with soft Velveteen, our Flyaway Bats Throw Pillow is boo-tique chic, and Lace Bats are eerily elegant! All event projects are made in 5×7 and 6×10 hoops, with additional sizes also available. From pumpkins and spiderwebs to bats and more, there’s no place like Home Sweet Haunted Home.

August's Project: Embroidering on Velvet

Virtual: August 19 | 10am-2pm

In-person: August 21 | 10am-2pm

Taught by OESD Certified Embroidery Specialist, Debbie Bean.


This month we will embroider on velvet using a Heat2go topper. The original class project was a Reader’s eyeglass case. An alternative project developed by Debbie is a zippered pouch using a medium horizontal pouch from the OESD Collection #51241 Sweet and Sassy. Lining fabric and zipper will also be needed for the Zippered pouch project. Debbie will show you how to make changes using your machines available editing tools. 


Cost is $35.00, with optional kit fee $5.00 for reader eyeglass case, $8.00 for zippered pouch. Kits can be shipped, postage not included in kit fees, or picked up in person prior to class. The design files and instruction will be included on a disc.


Embroidery machines with a 5x7” hoop are needed for glass case, 6x10” BERNINA mega or maxi hoop for the pouch.

All brands of machines are welcome and knowledge of your machines operation is necessary.
