A Message from our staff:
Dear Friends,

As summer winds down, things continue to build up here at United Way. There are so many great things happening that we are excited to share with you. We hope that you take the time to read through all of our upcoming events and participate where you can!

We hope you were able to join us in person or virtually for our Campaign Kick-Off breakfast that happened on August 24th. This event celebrated achievements from the last year such as impacting over 55,000 lives in the tri-state as well as looked forward to our next campaign season in which we hope to exceed our 1.2 million campaign goal.

UWDATS has worked alongside a cohort of other United Ways across Iowa to create the 21 Day Equity Challenge. As of today, over 200 local people have registered to participate in this free learning opportunity that starts September 1st. We hope you check it out and consider signing up!

Our third annual Over The Edge Event is less than 2 weeks away. Stop down at the Hotel Julien Dubuque on Friday, September 10th to see all the action. Don’t forget to support your favorite edger by making a donation, sharing this post on Facebook, and/or being their cheerleader on the big day.

We are now accepting nominations for Dubuque National Service Recognition Awards in the categories of National Service Impact Award, Volunteer Service Impact Award, and Equity Impact Award. This event provides an opportunity to appreciate and recognize volunteers and National Service members in our community. Winners will be awarded on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.  Nominate the wonderful volunteers you know!

These are just a few of the amazing things going on with United Way. Our theme this year is United We Can and we know that with the generous support of community members such as yourself, we CAN make a difference and impact lives!

We accept interns year-round for two different positions within our office.

Community Building & Impact/Volunteer Engagement Intern

Development & Marketing Intern

Why Intern at United Way?
"Interning at the United Way of Dubuque Area Tri-States was a great experience! They were flexible with my schedule and worked with me to ensure that my internship met the requirements set forth by my college for a Public Relations major. They allowed me the opportunity to work on a variety of different projects to build my portfolio and I was able to learn a lot about the world of nonprofit marketing! It was a great way to earn college credit while making an impact on my community!"- Jenna Meehan, Summer 2020 Development & Marketing Intern
