Greetings Everyone,

Can you believe that labor day is next weekend! The summer always seems to go by too fast! Although, we all can use some relief from the intense summer heat and drought. Looking on the bright side, it was great for all the waterfront restaurants, boating, and businesses.

We had some fabulous events take place this month. Congratulations to Platinum Cuisines. A great ribbon cutting ceremony was held on August 18th. Go visit them for lunch or dinner.

We had a delicious lunch provided by Halfway Down on August 9th. Our speakers were Adam Harbor co-founder of Trellus. If you haven't heard about them, I would defintely take the time to check them out! Their mission is to help small businesses thrive with their same-day local delivery system. Their website is https://bytrellus.com/

We also had Barbara Stauter, the phychic mistress talk about how to increase your phychic abilities for business.

Our next luncheon is scheduled for September 13th at Bracco's. Our guest speakers are a panel from the South Shore Child Guidance Center. They will be addressing the mental health challenges we are facing from the aftermath of covid.

We also have added a second lunch/dinner scheduled for Wednesday September 21st, which will be held at the Imperial Diner at 6:00 PM. An invitation will be sent out with more details.

So lots of opportunities to connect and network.

Last but not least, our great canoe race was an absolute blast. It was a gorgous day and everyone had so much fun!. These are the kinds of activities that bring people joy and families closer. Thank you Mariann Endo, for coordinatig this event and making sure everything ran smoothly. Thank you to the Town of Freeport. Thank you to all our sponsors. PAL, for providing their support and donations. Thank you to John Nuzzi for providing the tee shirts that we gave to the racers. Thank you to Ken Dookram, Tom Dipolito and Greg Giannotti for your contributions of the permit and banner and making this a successful event! Thanks to all the volunteers that helped in and out of the water. We can not do what we do without the generousity of our directors, and members.

Mark your calender for our Golf Outing on Thursday October 6th. We will be sending out more information about this shortly.

We wish everyone a safe and memorable labor day. Until next month.

Best,

The Freeport Chamber.

 A message from President Ben Jackson;

What a great summer! Try to get out and about Freeport to enjoy the remainder of it. We have some great restaurants on the Nautical Mile. We also have some great places to just get a cocktail and relax. Fishing is picking up so make sure you hop on one of our charters. Also, stop down and visit Cow Meadow Park. Since the village has taken it over their have already been tremendous improvements, A nice nature trail, pickle ball courts, a dog park, new lighting and benches and the basketball courts are re-opened to name a few. I know there is much more to come. Please use caution driving with the schools re-opening.
