Neighborhood Leadership Academy (NLA), is a 10-session leadership training program focused on community building principles, in a statewide virtual/hybrid format September 12 through November 14. This program guides participants through subjects such as: community building principles, planning, fundraising, marketing, engaging, and evaluating – as well as recognizing and developing their individual leadership strengths. This course is a collaboration between University of Missouri St. Louis and University of Missouri Extension that has educated more than 400 neighborhood and organization leaders over the last 20 years.

Participation in the program is effective regardless of the size of your neighborhood, community, county or region. Academy participants may be neighborhood association members, community leaders, volunteers, community-based organization staff, business owners and their employees, local government staff, and municipal elected officials. Businesses, local governments and other organization are encouraged to sponsor or support a participant in the program.
