Message from Principal Adams

I cannot believe August is already here! Cleaning, scheduling, planning, collaborating, and training are all taking place as we prepare for the new school year. We are welcoming many new students into our program. We still need to fill a few staffing positions to support our students and adults. Working at our center is an extremely rewarding job. Please help us spread the word so we can give our students and adults the best education and experience possible.

We are once again raising some “dough” for our lunch program. Last year many of you supported our students by purchasing lunch for them. It is a hardship for some of our family to provide a daily lunch for their child and this is a small way we can assist them. If you ever heard of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, basic physiological human needs are the base on the pyramid and is the foundation for all other levels. The most basic being food, water, shelter clothing etc. If these basic needs cannot be met, then learning cannot take place. Please help us to have every student start on the right foot!

Our adult program has been really enjoying their many summer activities. As you can see fishing was a fan favorite. I love that we provide experiences and outings which are first-time encounters for some of our individuals. We want to expose them to various opportunities so hopefully they take on some new interests or hobbies.

Thank you for helping to make all these things happen! Your support assists us in making every student and adult healthy, happy, independent, and successful.

Extended School Year Program

Recently, Mrs. Giannotti's and Ms. Wadsworth’s classes enjoyed a cookout of hot dogs and s’mores hosted by Mrs. Berkhammer for camping week! And coincidentally, it was also National Hot Dog Day!
