Young person experiences caring neighbors

A caring neighborhood creates a better environment for everyone regardless of age. Other benefits of a strong neighborhood include a greater sense of community and easier conflict resolution among neighbors.

20th Annual Second Chance Week : September 10-18, 2022
Help the community and the environment by keeping your unwanted items out of the landfill! Each day of the week from September 10th through the 18th is dedicated to encouraging residents to properly dispose of hazardous waste and to re-use, re-purpose, or donate items that they no longer need rather than throwing them out. The event will kick-off on September 10th and 11th with the popular Gilroy Citywide Garage Sale. Applications will be included in the August utility bill and will also be available online.
Sale will be the following weekend, September 17th and 18th (deadline to apply is September 2nd). Be sure to participate in one or all of this year’s Second Chance Week events and you’ll be helping both the community and the environment! For a complete schedule of Second Chance Week events can be found here.
