Save the Date: DPP Statewide Quarterly Network Meeting
Join DPP Coordinator, Kristie Hicks on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 1:00 PM via Microsoft Teams for the DPP statewide network meeting for all program coordinators and lifestyle coaches at NC CDC-recognized organizations. The goal of these meetings is to receive technical assistance, learn about new DPP resources and engage in peer learning.

American Diabetes Association Nutrition Toolkit
The mission of the American Diabetes Association® is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. This toolkit helps professionals improve their knowledge of food insecurity and provide practical nutrition information to the people they serve. Nutrition can be a challenging topic and there is a lot of conflicting information available. This toolkit offers reliable information and can support your patients’ knowledge retention and engagement in achieving their nutrition goals.

The NC Division of Public Health is pleased to offer a unique opportunity for trained and practicing lifestyle coaches offering the National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) to participate in a series of FREE advanced lifestyle coach training webinars. These trainings are made available to you by Emory’s Diabetes Training and Technical Assistance Center (DTTAC) and Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists (ADCES). These trainings are designed to complement your National DPP lifestyle coach training and to enhance competencies as a trained lifestyle coach. Click the flyer on the right, to access the trainings for free.

*These webinars fulfill the new requirement in the 2021 CDC DPRP Standards, which says, “…all Lifestyle Coaches and Program Coordinators should also complete at least two hours of Advanced Coach Training each year. Advanced Coach Training is training beyond the required formal training for Lifestyle Coaches that builds on the foundational skills necessary for helping participants make effective lifestyle change…”

Keep us Informed!
Use DiabetesFreeNC’s online program update form regularly to update your program's contact information, upcoming class dates and times, class modality (e.g., in person, combination), Spanish class availability, and other information. The DPP Navigator team will use this information when communicating with referred individuals about DPPs available to enroll participants.
