New Easterseals Book Series Understanding Disability is Available Now

At our 2022 gala, we introduced ambassador Jaxon, a fun-loving, spunky, 11-year-old who loves to share his Easterseals story and play sled hockey!

Now, he adds young author to his impressive skills as he joins Easterseals in a new children's book series, Understanding Disability. This Easterseals and Cherry Lake Publishing partnership, is an exploration of disability in a series of children's books authored by writers with disabilities, a conversational tool that can be utilized by parents and teachers. The series features eight titles with topics about service dogs, disability etiquette, disability and the media and Jaxon's book with Nicole Evans, Disability and Relationships.

In his last summer intensive therapy session, Jaxon worked on signing his new book. This was an awesome occupational therapy goal to practice his signature for a book signing! Stay tuned for the date and time to come!

Last call to register for Bike for the Kids!

Join our annual Bike for the Kids, as we move to the Fox River Trails at Festival Park on Sunday, August 28 in Elgin.

Enjoy our new trail routes and post-ride celebration with a taco lunch, refreshments, family-friendly entertainment and our adapted bike giveaway! Trails are open from 7:30 - 11:30 AM with food and entertainment beginning at 11:00 AM.

19 Annual Run for the Kids: Superhero Hustle

Join us to run, walk or roll at this family fun event on Saturday, October 1. Your participation in this 5K/2-Mile Run will help fund the therapies children need to achieve their own superhero goals. Race day includes an after-run party, raffle prizes, food & beverages, family-friendly entertainment, live music & more!

Community Partnerships

Immediate Intervention Grant from DCTP

Thank you to the DuPage Community Transformation Partnership (DCTP) Fund for the generous Immediate Intervention grant of $60,000 to support care coordination for our mental health services.

The DCTP Fund was established earlier this year after DuPage County and DuPage Foundation solidified a strategic grantmaking partnership to support social service not-for-profit organizations helping DuPage County residents most severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. More than $1 million in Immediate Intervention grants were given to 16 social service not-for-profit organizations serving DuPage County residents in the areas of food insecurity, housing instability, mental health and substance use disorder.

Painters District Golf Outing Benefiting Easterseals

Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley is the grateful to be the beneficiary charity for the Painters' District Council #14 in their Annual Golf Outing.

All golfers and friends of Easterseals are welcome to attend on Monday, September 12, 2022, at Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park.
