Hardware is Starting to Ship

It has been ugly, the chip shortage in our industry. What used to ship same day, can now take over a year to ship. Some of our customers’ orders have been celebrating birthdays. But we are starting to see some movement in the shipping of hardware. It is slow coming but getting ever so slightly better. Passive RFID is Gaining Momentum

It all started with Walmart, this RFID for retail thing, in January of 2005. At that time, the thought in the industry was that Walmart would soon RFID tag all items sold in their stores and be able to implement a drive through check out process, where all items would be scanned automatically, and checked out by merely driving your shopping cart through an RFID portal. Not only Walmart, but all retailers. As stated in the article above, RFID continues to gain momentum, and we continue to work on more and more RFID projects. In this project, we use RFID to track decorative wood products for the RV industry as the wood products travel throughout the manufacturing process.
