Our PreK graduation will be held on Thursday, August 4th from 5:45 pm-7:00 pm!
The ceremony will begin at 5:45 pm on our playground. Parents, siblings, and loved ones are welcomed! We will be hosting outside in an attempt to maintain social distancing.
Following our brief ceremony, we will celebrate our graduates with an ice cream sundae bar, outdoor games, and lots of fun!
We hope to see you there!

We will be celebrating the end of summer camp with a field trip to the Miller Park Zoo on August 12th!
If your child is enrolled in our summer camp program please return their permission slip no later than August 8th.
August 18th marks our last day of school age summer camp!

If you have a child in our summer camp program and have not already, please stop by the front desk and tell our administrative team when your child's last day will be!

We hope your kiddos had as much fun as we did this summer! We are excited to see what the new school year holds in store for them all!
Katie's Kids will be closed on Friday, August 19th for a professional development day.
While closing is not ideal for our families, this day is a great learning opportunity for our staff members in order to provide the best care for our kiddos.
Professional Development Day gives us the chance to review our mission & policies with staff members old + new.
It also gives us the chance to complete hands-on training, webinars, and highlight new research information relevant to our center to expand our staff members' knowledge and provide an enriching environment for all of our 'Katie's Kids'!

After carefully analyzing increased prices of materials, wages, and overhead costs, effective August 22nd, our childcare rates will be increasing as well. Price increases are always a difficult decision to make as we know it has a big impact on our families, but a this time is necessary to maintain the quality of care here at Katie's Kids.

With this increase in tuition, as we appreciate your continued support, we will be increasing our referral bonus from $50 to $100 per family referred. As always, we appreciate your understanding and we appreciate you spreading positive words about Katie's Kids in our community and to prospective families!

COVID-19 Vaccines for Children
The COVID-19 Vaccine is now available for children 6 months +
The vaccine is such an important tool to protect your child from COVID-19 and complications that come along with it. The vaccine also lessens symptoms if the disease is still contracted. This tool being available to children 6 months and up is great news for our community and school as it can help to keep our children and families safe while confidently attending daycare and other community events.

The COVID-19 Booster is now available for children 5 years +
The booster provides an additional layer of protection to previously vaccinated children.

While the vaccine is not a requirement at this time, it is strongly recommended.
If your child does get vaccinated, please bring in their vaccination card so that we can make a copy for their file!

Here is more information from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention regarding vaccinations.
Recipe Idea...
At Katie's Kids Learning Center, we are committed to providing the best possible nutrition to you and your family. We hope you enjoy the following recipe:

August 4th is
National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!
Celebrate with your family by making this healthier alternative to the classic cookie recipe!
Ideas for home...
While enjoying outside adventures at home, if you come across any nature items we could use at Katie's Kids, please bring them in to share!
We are always looking for pine cones, branches, buckeyes, fallen tree branches to make "wood cookies", rocks, leaves, etc...
We do ask to avoid bringing in any tree nuts (acorns, pine nuts, chestnuts, etc.) as we are not able to have them in our center due to allergies.
We use these items as loose parts in infinite ways, such as in our mud kitchen, to create sensory play items, and so much more! Open-ended play with these loose items is such a valuable way to learn about our senses, make observations, and explore various textures. Open-ended play also supports your child's imagination and creativity which allows them to learn while also expressing themselves!
Forms...
Katie's Kids is required to have the following forms updated yearly. If you have not already done so, please complete the following forms and return to the front. These forms are available at the front desk as well.
