Pain Management
August 16, 2022
10:00am - 12:00pm
This training will address: 

  • Defining pain; types of pain; the characteristics of pain; assessing pain; pain severity; factors that influence pain; the physiopathology and biological processes involved in pain; treatment approaches including: pharmacological, surgical, physical therapies, alternative therapies and a multi-disciplinary approach to pain management
  • Psychotherapeutic approaches to pain management including CBT, mindfulness, coping and relaxation skills and psychoeducation
  • Cultural differences surrounding pain and pain management

Veterans 101: Silent Warriors

10:00am - 12:00pm
Join us to discuss challenges faced by many Veterans, specifically Military Sexual Trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Moral Injury, as well as resources available for them and their families. The OCHN referral system to help connect Veterans and their family members will also be shared. 2 social work CEUs available. 

Motivational Interviewing: Skill Training - OARS & More

9:00am - 11:00am
OARS is an acronym for Open questions, Affirmations, Reflective listening and Summarizing. Though these 4 skills are widely used in various therapeutic settings, they are the core communication skills when using Motivational Interviewing to express empathy, explore ambivalence and guide the client to articulating reasons for change. Focus of this training will be on OARS skill development. 2 MCBAP and social work CEUs available. 

Ethics for Social Workers and SUD Professionals
August 23 & 24, 2022
9:00am - 12:00pm
The conceptual foundation of ethics represents an inherent and essential framework for behavioral health. In this presentation, attendees will gain a thorough understanding of the fundamental concepts of ethics in practice. Ethical codes and guidelines will be discussed, including the NASW Code of Ethics. Ethical concepts, including confidentiality, informed consent, personal and professional boundaries, and dual relationship issues, will be addressed and relevant case studies will be presented and discussed. 6 MCBAP and social work CEUs available. 

Supported Decision Making Webinar: Types of Assistive Technology That Support Community Inclusion and Interdependence

Join us for a monthly training series, in partnership with the Developmental Disabilities Council, on various tools that can be used for Supported Decision Making. This training series is for persons served, families and professional staff. The 2022 Supported Decision Making Series occurs on the fourth Tuesday of every Month from February to October of 2022. 1 social work CEU pending. 

Military Sexual Trauma

Tri-County Peer Connect
Ethics and Boundaries in the Workplace

This is an in-person training for peers.
Join us for this very hands-on training that examines issue that arise when someone who has received services through the public mental health system becomes a service provider. We will explore how to make ethical decisions and what to do in particular situations!! MCBAP credits pending. 

Understanding ACEs: Adverse Childhood Experiences

Join us to learn what Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are and how they impact people and communities. This training will also discuss resiliency and how to implement self-care strategies as you support yourself and others. 2 social work CEUs available. 

Recognizing and Responding to Intimate Partner Violence

Intimate partner violence is of epidemic proportions in our community; however, all too often it is shrouded in silence and swept under the rug. This program is designed to support service providers, clinicians, and professionals in developing strategies to recognize intimate partner violence, and build strength & confidence in responding to our colleagues and clients. 2 social work CEUs available.
