PTG Convention Recap
2022 is in the books as PTG closes another successful Convention and Technical Institute in Anaheim, CA. Nearly 400 people gathered to attend classes, see the latest offerings from piano manufacturers and suppliers, and catch up with old and new friends.

“Piano technology knowledge is a lifetime pursuit,” said PTG President Marc Poulin, RPT. “As piano technicians, we’re going to see a lot of different kinds of pianos and situations throughout our careers. I think you come out of a PTG event better prepared for whatever you might face.”

Look for a complete convention wrap-up in the October 2022 issue of the Piano Technicians Journal.

Call for 2023 Proposals
Planning for PTG’s 2023 Convention and Technical Institute has already begun. We are seeking class proposals for the 2023 Technical Institute. If you have class ideas, this is your time to share your knowledge and expertise. The theme in 2023 is "Represent our Trade." Please submit class proposals to www.ptg.org/class-submit by September 15. Contact 2023 Institute Director Morgan Cowell, RPT, at [email protected] for more information.

PTG Council and Board Actions
Watch for a summary of action taken by Council and the Board of Directors in the Regional Vice President newsletters that should be hitting your email in the next few weeks. You’ll also be able to review those newsletters in your regional communities at my.ptg.org.
Login Info Reminder for PTG Websites
In May 2022, PTG upgraded to a new database system. If you’re not a regular user of the PTG websites (or have never logged in), here’s how to update your login information.
First, clear your browsing history and delete any saved passwords and bookmarks for PTG websites.
Then, follow these 3 steps:
  1. Go to www.ptg.org.
  2. Click on Sign In, in the upper right-hand corner.
  3. The system will ask you for a Username. Please type in the email address that you use for your PTG account. Then, click on the Forgot Password link at the bottom of the page. You will receive a verification code sent to that email address. Enter the code to reset your password.
Once logged in you can go to PTG Members and click on My Portal where you will be able to edit your profile, shop in the PTG Store, search the temporary Member Directory, pay invoices online and more. Please remember to keep your profile updated so we can better serve you! If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].

Home Office Classes Return
The next "Grand Action Regulation in 37 Steps" class is scheduled for October 13-15, 2022. This intensive 3-day skills-based course will polish skills in grand regulation and ensure that your clients' grand pianos are performing at full potential. The bad news? We only have one slot left. The good news is that we do have a waiting list and are hoping to schedule another class next spring. If you’re interested in a slot in the October class or being added to a wait list, please contact Kathy Maxwell at 913-276-5202 or [email protected]. Stay tuned for more class opportunity announcements.
PTG Green Initiative
As adopted in 2005, the Council Book of Resolutions states, "Home Office and PTG membership shall be environmentally aware." Over the last year, the HO has been working towards eliminating the printing and mailing of such things as newsletters, supplements, invoices, and monthly statements. Please update your profile online or contact the HO if we do not have your current contact information. Find My Portal under PTG Members and click on your picture or the person image in the upper right hand corner to edit your profle.
