MESSAGE FROM MAYOR PRIBONIC

Dear Residents,

As many of you are aware, the City of Stow recently completed a Parks & Recreation Master Plan. As part of that master planning process, a community survey was completed by almost 1,700 residents. In that survey, respondents were asked to prioritize their top four recreational amenities for their households. The amenity receiving the strongest support was a community center/recreation center. Find out more about the master plan project here.

As a result of this master plan and its public input process, which in addition to the survey, included stakeholder meetings and focus group meetings, the City has engaged a consulting team to complete a feasibility study for a multi-purpose, multi-generational indoor facility. At this time, the City is only committed to the completion of the feasibility study. The feasibility study will provide the City with key data and information on the market and demand for services, develop operational costs, and determine capital investment for potential construction.

Your feedback and participation in this survey is a crucial part of the feasibility study process and will assist the consulting team in determining if a community/recreation center is feasible for our community, and if so, what amenities and programs should be a part of the facility. The consulting team will compile the data while keeping all of your responses confidential.

Your voice and opinions are very important to us. The time you invest in completing this survey will aid the City of Stow in taking a community-driven approach to making decisions that will enrich the future of our City and positively affect the quality of life we provide to our residents.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me regarding the process. This survey is a tool that will benefit all residents, so please take this opportunity to let your voice be heard!

We thank you in advance for taking part in this survey.

Sincerely,

John Pribonic

Mayor, City of Stow

City Continues Progress on Parks Enhancements in Stow

Have you noticed the dirt piles and earth moving that has taken place at the Hanson Property across from Fox Den Golf Course? What about the NEW playground equipment at Northport and Sherwood Acres Parks that has just been installed? New signs at City parks?

The City administration, staff, and Parks and Recreation Board, with the assistance of a Professional Consultant, have completed a process resulting in a Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The process involved community input, as well as inventories and assessments of programs, maintenance, facilities, and operations of the City’s parks and recreation system.

Protecting Your Sewer Systems and Septic Tanks!

The best way to protect your sewer system or on-site septic tank system from clogs and costly repairs is to make sure that you don’t use your toilet as a trash can. The only safe non-human material to flush down the toilet is toilet paper because it is dispersible, meaning that it falls apart when moved around in the water.
