BICENTENNIAL COMMUNITY DAYS!

Bicentennial Community Days

TRUSTEES CORNER

Continued Efforts to Make Concord Township a Great Place to Live

Making our community a great place to live and work is a goal our Trustees focus on daily. Our Township Trustees and our partners have focused efforts on economic development to attract businesses and companies that will enhance our quality of life. In addition to the friendly neighborhoods and a well planned business corridor, we have been continuing to attract high quality businesses which in turn are creating many jobs for our community. In fact, over the past 4 years, approximately 350 full and part time jobs have been created and 28 businesses have come to our community. Most of these businesses have joined the Joint Economic Development District (JEDD.). The Concord-Painesville JEDD, created in 2008, has a goal to further economic development of the Auburn-Crile Road Corridor.

Our list of growing businesses established includes: University Hospitals Tripoint Medical Center and University Hospitals Concord Health Center, Concord Village Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation, Ranpak, De Nora Tech, Landis Corp, Cometic Gasket, Pressure Technology Inc, Holiday Inn Express, Discount Drug Mart and Lucky’s Market. Most recently we have welcomed Stephen Douglas Corporation (under construction), Ordnance Technology Service Inc.Concord Collision, along with two new medical buildingsConcord Health & Wellness Center and Dr. Mosheni’s Medical Office Building (under construction.) New construction of a tunnel car wash and an ice cream shop will also break ground this year.

The Concord-Painesville region is a hotbed for national and international light industry and R&D companies. The accessible location, available land and growing population in this region make it a developing center of commerce.

This development, coupled with the new fire station project which will improve response times and safety for our residents are key areas for the improvement our township and its services. We will continue to strive to bring in businesses that not only enhance our community, but we will continue to place our focus on resident satisfaction by focusing on a healthy sense of community, safety for families and properties, excellent schools, and a responsive township government.
