Getting into Birding

with John McLeran

Tuesday, September 19th at 1:00 pm

If you ever thought you needed to know more about birds, this workshop will get you started. We will begin inside with some basics, including information about binoculars, the best field guides and what you can expect to find. He will then take the group outside to get some training with binoculars and some birding skills.

John McLeran is an Open Space Manager for the Town of Redding and the Redding Land Trust. Although his formal education is not in ornithology, he grew up identifying birds by sight and sound. He now has about 75 years of birding experience, particularly in our local area. What local birds might you encounter?

John is kindly lending his own binoculars, but please bring your own if you have them. RSVP with Michelle, mstillman@townofreddingct.org or 203-938-9725.
