Summer Reading Finale Party August 2nd @ 6:00

Celebrate with the amazing Katy BEE! She will lead our finale party for readers with her hula hoop and juggling show. Join in on the silliness with laughter yoga, music and dancing. Prize baskets will be awarded! Sweet treats will be served. Our "Books are Sweet" Summer Reading Finale Party will be fantastic fun! Registration is not required. Everyone is welcome! See you tomorrow at 6:00 :)

Honey Bees - Better Together



Thursday, August 17th @ 6:00

On Thursday, August 17th at 6:00 p.m. you are invited to an educational and entertaining honey bee program presented by beekeeper Don Snoeyink from Thornapple Woodlands LLC. Don is passionate about bees. Witness the life cycle of the honey bee and see how bees gather nectar from flowers and turn it into honey. He will discuss how bees pollinate and the importance of pollination for our food supply. Safely view live honey bees in an observation hive. A taste of honey from a real beehive will be offered and you may sign up to make a hand rolled beeswax candle to take home. Registration required for candle making as supplies are limited. Good listeners ages 5 through adult are welcome. Call (231) 627-2381 or buzz over to the library to register for the candle making portion. Registration to attend the presentation only is not required.

Turn the Page The Bob Seger Story

with author Ph.D. Edward Sarkis Balian

Join us as author Dr. Balian presents an entertaining summary of his biography of rock legend Bob Seger followed by a very interactive question and answer session. Balian's informal style of presentation, filled with interesting facts and fun is not simply a book “reading.”

Dr. Edward Sarkis Balian’s 13th book, Turn the Page, includes inside Bob Seger stories, drawing on interviews, his composing, band personnel, recording sessions, tours, and his very private personal life. Turn the Page is a must for any true Bob Seger fan as this is the only Bob Seger biography. The book is over 280 pages, with over 60 color and black and white images, and over 220 well-documented footnotes. 


Like A Rock is the thirteenth studio album by American singer-songwriter Bob Seger, released in 1986.

A #1 hit in 1987 on Billboard Hot 100, Shakedown, was recorded by Bob Seger and featured on the Beverly Hills Cop II soundtrack.

Project based learning for beginners and intermediate sewers. Ages 9 and up welcome.

$30 includes supplies and instruction during four class sessions. Register today for Saturday Sewing!

Monday Drawing four week session with Ms. Kimberly begins August 7th at 10:00. $20 fee includes instruction for four classes and all supplies. Ages 9 and up welcome. Sign up required please.

We have partnered with Michigan Department of Health & Human Services to provide free rapid test kits to our community. Stock up on kits for yourself or claim up to five per household. If you are feeling unwell or have a confirmed exposure please park in our curbside pick-up parking, call the library & someone will run some kits out to you.

The Book Nook is Open!


The Friends of the Cheboygan Area Public Library host a used book sale twice a week! Find some new-to-you books on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10:30am to 2pm in the Book Nook bookstore on the Library's Lower Level.
