Somewhere in Between

New Orleans and Baton Rouge

Our 30,000 square foot museum tells the stories of Life on the Mississippi River between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Our Enslaved Exhibit tells the story of slavery from its origins to freedom in the South. Wax figures in period clothing portray life in the 18th and 19th Centuries. This "Not to be Missed" Museum is both educational and entertaining.

Dancing in Dixie

While summer is in full swing, the rhythmic beats of "Dancing in Dixie" at Houmas House are taking a break. Our lively dance-filled event will return soon, filling the air with toe-tapping melodies and vibrant energy.

East Coast Swing (Jitterbug) and Slow Dance Class

Starting August 10th, We will be hosting Dance Classes! They will be held from 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm in the Houmas House Pavilion Ballroom. There will be five weekly classes on Thursdays:

August 31st

September 7th
