Greetings, Lisle area businesses and residents! As the summer sun continues to shine upon our beloved town, the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce is delighted to bring you an exciting August packed with cheerful events and fun-filled activities. Let's make the most of this vibrant season together! Make sure you get out to the Lisle Sea Lion aquatic park. The best place to be on these hot summer days. By far one of the best spots in all of Lisle.
Celebrate Friendship Day - August 6th. This August, let's cherish the bonds we share with friends and neighbors. Friendship Day is the perfect occasion to share with those who make our lives brighter. Keep an eye out for special offers and discounts from local businesses, encouraging you to celebrate your friendships in style.
Join us August 8 for the Multi-Chamber Progressive Networking Luncheon. This fantastic event is a big hit during the summer. You will forge new relationships with other like-minded business owners. Put it on your calendar and register on the Chamber website.
On August 16th, make sure you stop by the LINCT networking group meeting for a free networking opportunity. Do you want to mingle with other Chamber business owners? This is a great way to spend an hour. Stop by and have fun while you’re seeing your local favorite people or meeting new people. Visit the Lisle Area Chamber website for details of all of our events, dates, times and locations.
On August 19th, how can you not enjoy yourself at a car show? This is one of my favorite things to do, hanging out with other car crazy people like myself. Stop by the car show at the commuter parking lot in downtown Lisle. While you’re there, please visit the restaurants and other shops.
Join the Lisle Area Chamber on August 24th from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. for a Ribbon Cutting for The DB Group Cross Country Mortgage's grand opening of their new location. Visit the Chamber website events calendar for more details.
Then on August 29th, join us for the Multi-Chamber Hunger Action Luncheon, featuring Steve "The Food Guy" Dolinsky as the Keynote Speaker. Steve Dolinsky is an American television, radio, print and podcast food and travel reporter who is known as "The Food Guy" on NBC-TV Channel 5 in Chicago. Participating chambers will donate a portion of their proceeds to their local food pantries in recognition of Hunger Action Month in September, with the Lisle Area Chamber donating to the Lisle Township Food Pantry.

AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT
Amy LeBeau
Amy LeBeau of GreenBee Energy Efficiency is this month's featured Ambassador. GreenBee Energy Efficiency has been a Lisle Area Chamber member for a few years before Amy joined their business this year. Even though Amy is new to the Ambassador Committee, she has been in this role at other chambers in the past. She enjoys the supportive and close-knit group of members and local businesses working to build relationships with each other. In addition to the Ambassador Committee, Amy is also involved in the LINCT Committee.
At GreenBee, Amy is in charge of business development and client success. GreenBee is a full-service energy consulting firm providing upgrades and solutions to building, facilities and property owners in the Chicago area and beyond. They are located in Lisle and they serve companies in the Northern Illinois area. GreenBee provides comprehensive energy efficiency solutions to businesses in a wide variety of industries throughout Chicago. They specialize in LED lighting upgrades as well as controls, rebate solutions, and EV charging installation. The goal is to improve energy efficiency of facilities and reduce energy bills for companies and homeowners so that they see a positive return on investment from their energy efficiency project. They spend a great deal of time with their clients to understand their needs and consult with them. They also want each of their clients to understand when they will be cash positive on their investment. GreenBee looks at the data so they can help clients understand why energy efficiency upgrades are a smart investment.
Amy lives locally in Lombard with her husband, Bob LeBeau, a physical therapist, and their daughters Elizabeth and Maggie. Both girls are headed to their senior years this year fall-Elizabeth is going to be a senior in college and Maggie will be a senior at Glenbard East. When Amy is not attending an event for one of her daughters, she enjoys finding new places to dine in the area, attending sporting events or the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

This award-winning site serves as a beautiful back drop to this colorful, open-air market that runs on Saturdays from May 6 through October 14, 2023 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Vendors change weekly, so each market is a unique experience. Free parking is available in the Garfield Parking Lot, Main Street and the Commuter Parking Lots off of Burlington Avenue. There is no admission charge, so bring the whole family; service animals and pets in carriers are welcome. Diverse offerings include:

The annual Golf Outing at Seven Bridges Golf Club was held on July 18th and we could not have asked for better weather. Thank you Geoff Clam, Golf Director and his staff for always organizing a fun event.

We are gearing up for the Membership and Community Profile publication. Please contact Claudine if you have moved or changed representatives. You company listing in the directory is a benefit included with your membership. You will also have the opportunity to purchase additional ad space in the directory. A representative from Town Square Publications will call you on behalf of the Chamber about an opportunity to purchase an ad in the directory.
Make sure and visit Downtown Lisle to view the Yarn "Popped" Trees before they are taken down. It adds to the ambiance that is Lisle.

Connect DuPage Whether large or small business; we want to create an environment of collaboration and connectivity between our diverse business population. Connect DuPage was launched in 2022 so that we could connect the business population, support our local economy, and do our part to help with the supply chain issues many are faced with today. Below is a snapshot on how this initiative might help your members.

Connection to a database specific for small minority, woman, veteran, disadvantaged and/or disabled owned businesses in DuPage to register their business. This free registration will be key in connecting them to other business partners in the county seeking suppliers.
- Educational programming will be offered to assist our small businesses to better understand the various certifications possible and how to move forward in obtaining those certifications for their business.
Connect DuPage has scheduled two new events that your customers/clients may be interested in attending.
Free Programs To Assist Small Business on August 2nd at 10:00 am. Attendees will learn about the programs and resources available at the College of DuPage Business Development Center. The programs can assist with creating business plans all the way through to learning how to be a government contractor. Access to these expert advisors can be the difference in business growth! How To Do Business With Argonne National Laboratory on September 13th at 10:00 am. This virtual event will help participants learn the 6-step process of doing business with Argonne. Registration information can be found at the Connect DuPage event page or clicking the link provided.
Want to gain a deeper understanding of your industry and supply chain? Connect DuPage can create Custom Industry-Sector Reports for you or your businesses. Choose DuPage will provide a detailed report complete with employment and workforce data, regional economic forecasts, local supply chain mapping, connections to diverse businesses within your supply chain, and other valuable data and insights tailored to your industry. Sustainable DuPage is our newest initiative to assist businesses in pursuing the positive impacts of sustainability. We are looking for more manufacturing and distribution/logistic companies to participate in the pilot program. We have conducted Green Business Assessments and they have been received well and appreciated. What does participation look like? Our process is very simple to participate, and the commitment of time is no more than 2 hours. The customized Sustainable DuPage report becomes the road map for the business to utilize moving forward for more positive impacts.
