Spiritual Principle: Self-Discipline

Step Eight: “The Importance of Working All Twelve Steps” Podcast

Ronnie, a compulsive overeater, and Tina, a recovering compulsive overeater, host this workshop on Step Eight: “Made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.” For Ronnie, the accountability of Step Eight is what differentiates the OA program from talk therapy.

What is an outside issue:

Are We Being Open-Minded in Our Meetings?

The World Service Unity with Diversity Committee has addressed this issue in a letter that has been published by World Service. Take a few minutes to read the letter and then please share it in all of your meetings.

It is so important that members are comfortable and feel welcome to share in meetings about any factor in our life that may cause us to act out with food. Those difficult things would not be considered an outside issue!

A Search Committee of the OA Board of Trustees

Is Accepting Applications for

World Service Office Managing Director

We are excited to announce the opportunity to apply for the Managing Director position at Overeaters Anonymous, Inc. Overeaters Anonymous (OA) is a recovery organization based on the Twelve Steps. The current Managing Director is retiring after 20+ years’ service at the company. We are looking for candidates who are strong, visionary leaders, who have skills in strategic decision-making, and who can manage effective changes at the organizational level, when needed. Please review the Job Description. This position is also posted in ZipRecruiter and LinkedIn. If interested, please email your resume, with a cover letter, to us at MDSearch23@gmail.com. Sincerely, Meg M., Chair, OA Board of Trustees

All are welcome in OA. When we say or hear that only one piece of literature is the way to work the Steps, the way to carry the message, the way to find recovery, OA stops being accepting, inclusive—welcoming.

Read and share Embracing Our Differences, a timely reminder that OA is a Fellowship of unity and diversity, and recommit to embracing all who want to stop eating compulsively.
