Online Lectures Explore Famous Buildings and Grounds Near and Far
|
|
Our online architecture classes have exploded in popularity as they transport students to different sites and times. View the surroundings through carefully chosen photographs and learn about the each building's history and occupants from instructors who also serve as seasoned guides for our in person walking tours.

This term, Francis Morrone takes students through the architecture buff's bucket list of buildings across America, complete with directions and the occasional restaurant recommendation for those planning to visit. The brand new series begins in Washington, D.C. at the U.S. Capitol. Over the span of fifteen weeks, class will also venture to Chicago, Oak Park, Cincinnati, Lincoln, San Francisco, San Simeon, Los Angeles, Pasadena, Boston, Miami, Durham, and Manhattan. Must-See Buildings in the U.S. (Courses 12018 through 12032) meets Wednesdays at 1pm, starting September 13. Each class requires separate registration.
On Thursday, November 30, 2023, Ginny Poleman will tour the Chrysler Building, One of America’s Favorite Buildings (Course 12169). Explore the stories behind the construction and design of this New York City skyline beauty, from the spire that mysteriously appeared overnight to its top-ten ranking in America’s Favorite Architecture by the American Institute of Architects.
Morrone's and Poleman's online lectures will be recorded and sent to registered students for viewing on demand within a week of the class. Even if you are unable to attend live, be sure to register now so you can receive the link to watch the video.
