Local SMC and BIA Cares Team-Up to Feed the Homeless

Members of our local SMC & BIA Cares came together to prepare and deliver 450 meals to our local homeless population, under the guidance of the 11 Meals Mission. On a Saturday in 2020, Blake and Cooper Woodall (father and son) decided to make and deliver 11 meals to a group of homeless people, which began a passion for the mission of feeding those in need. Including the 450 meals delivered on August 5^th, 11 Meals Mission has delivered 4,000 meals to people in need throughout San Diego. All food and delivery bags were purchased from cash donations given by the SMC & BIA Cares boards.

The San Diego SMC is now accepting applications for new board members to join our 2024 council. Members of this council include employees of escrow companies, design firms, sign companies, photographers/videographers, lenders, new home sales representatives, marketing firms and more! Our mission is to connect and support not only the sales and leasing efforts of the building industry but all team members who make our industry so wonderful.

BIA Member Engages in Relief Efforts for Maui

Long-time BIA member and BUILD SD PAC Events Chair Jason Coriano, Principal at Metro San Diego Realty , spearheaded relief efforts for victims of the Maui wildfires. A frequent visitor to the area, Jason and his wife Lesley were celebrating their wedding anniversary on the island when the disaster hit. Their plans quickly changed from celebrations to helping those in need. They have collected and distributed over $7,000 in monetary donations and other items needed by Lahaina residents.
