Saying Goodbye to a Roofing Legend

RCAW President, Justin Shirley, presents the obituary of Don Vose as RCAW says goodbye to a legend.

Donald Ross Vose was born April 7, 1958, in Sacramento, California and lived life to the fullest for 65 years on this beautiful earth. He passed away peacefully at Good Sam Hospital in Puyallup, Washington on July 18, 2023, with his loving family by his side. Read more.

New Regulations for Roofers

On July 17, 2023, a new Washington state outdoor workers heat illness protection regulation takes effect. It applies to companies that have workers who work outdoors and when the temperature reaches or exceeds 80-degrees F. The regulation has significant changes to the prior regulation. The regulation has three levels of applications at 80-, 90-, and 100-degrees F respectively. Read more.

When you see a hard hat, you likely think of construction. On a typical construction site, most people wear them, and they also appear as icons on signs and brochures. This headgear is standard and has become a well-known symbol of the industry. However, some contractors have recently replaced hard hats with helmets, touting better protection. 54th Annual Golf Tournament Recap

The 54th Annual RCAW golf tournament was a huge success made possible by everyone in attendance! To our many sponsors, we can’t thank you enough! Your commitment throughout the years is invaluable. The volunteers who came were fantastic, offering their time to do whatever was needed to make the whole event run smoothly. Auburn Golf Course never disappoints, and their staff is exceptional and professional. It was a privilege to work alongside them! Special congratulations to this year’s winning teams!
