Celebrating The Last Days of Summer!

July was wonderful. A few highlights from the month included: Camping and hiking in Colorado. Golf at the Park City municipal course. A Bluebird Cafe concert in Sundance. If you enjoy country music and have not been, I can not recommend it enough. 

Now that August is officially here, we are approaching the last few days of summer. The Arts Festival kicks off today, and it is always a sign we are nearing the end of this fabulous season here in Park City. All the details on the festival are below, so be sure to scroll down.

New 10 Person Gondola at Canyons Village

will replace the existing Sunrise lift

Called the Sunrise Gondola, it will replace the existing Sunrise lift near the Pendry hotel. It will take skiers and riders up more than 1,000 vertical feet to the Red Pine Lodge, near the Saddleback and High Meadow lifts.



When complete, it’ll be the third portal out of the Canyons base, along with the Red Pine Gondola and Orange Bubble Express. The lack of options to get up the mountain has contributed to long waits on peak days at Canyons.



The new gondola will cost $27 million. Under the contract, CVMA will pay a little more than $9 million, with Vail covering the remainder.

“Park City Mountain and CVMA are pleased to be moving forward together toward this important future investment," a joint statement said. "A future gondola will enhance the Canyons Village experience and contribute to the operation of a world-class resort. Today’s CVMA board vote was one step in a process we are excited to continue as we partner to reimagine Canyons Village as a world-class destination.”

The agreement with the two parties also stipulates the gondola must be completed within three years after receiving all approvals, which includes the Snyderville Basin Planning Commission.

Kimball Arts Festival

August 4, 2023 – August 6, 2023

For more than 50 years Park City’s historic Main Street has been home to the Park City Kimball Arts Festival. Every year roughly 1,000 professional artists from around the country apply in hopes of being selected by a blind jury to showcase their work, and more than 50,000 attendees converge on Main Street to purchase it. In fact, the Park City Kimball Arts Festival consistently ranks among the top art festivals in the country for artist sales and attendee experience.

This annual three-day event is held the first full weekend of August and also features live music, gourmet food and drink, and a host of creative and collaborative activities.
