Artfully August

We're on the downhill run for summer 2024 and we couldn't be more excited for all that's to come these next few weeks.

In this concise edition you'll find upcoming community events, the scoop on our next Art Club activity, info on our art supply drive for a local nonprofit, and our collab with the coolest scientists on 4th Street!

Upcoming Events

COMMUNITY FEATURE: 4th Street Festival

Labor Day weekend

On Labor Day weekend, 4th Street will close to vehicle traffic between Grant Street and Indiana Avenue, and instead feature bumper-to-bumper artist booths! Don't miss this opportunity to support the work of artists from Bloomington and beyond.

GalleryWalk

Fri. 9/6

5-8pm

Bfa.supply is a proud member of GalleryWalk Bloomington! The first Friday of each month, member organizations open their doors for the community to enjoy and explore the featured art collections within.

Art Club • September Thurs. 9/12

Every second Thursday, we host Art Club, a free BYO-project meetup. For September, our optional activity is a coloring book swap! Bring a coloring book and swap a few pages with other Art Clubbers.

Teachers Warehouse Supply Drive

For the remainder of August and the month of September, we're partnering with Teachers Warehouse to host a donation box at the front of our shop!

This local nonprofit is celebrating 20 years of operation, and relies solely on the time and energy of volunteers who are dedicated to providing teachers and students with gently used, free art supplies.

We're accepting donations of all types of art and craft supplies, including fabric and sewing notions. Monetary donations are also welcome—even your spare change can help!

In advance of the 2024-25 school year, Teachers Warehouse served more than 425 public school teachers. They are currently supporting public schools in Monroe, Brown, Owen, Lawrence, and Greene counties.

A fleet of some of Bloomington's most friendly volunteers test all perishable supplies (like markers and paints) to ensure that everything teachers receive is usable. If that sounds like fun to you, consider volunteering!

WonderLab Fundraiser: The Science of Superstition

When WonderLab asked if we would contribute something on-theme for their upcoming Science of Superstition fundraising gala, we dropped 6 mirrors in our rush to support.

On Friday, Sept. 13 (of course!), WonderLab is hosting their annual fundraising gala, and you're invited! Tickets are available here.

Our silent auction contribution features *mystical treasures* that change or transform before your very eyes! We made sure the total value of this basket came in at $77.77––can't be too careful.
